[The video starts with stones. Stones upon stones, stones that form floors and low walls until they give way to the sky. Someway, somehow, the Pokégear has found its way to the top of a tower.

The image turns east, towards taller walls and taller towers, before dipping to show a dark grey yard. A castle, it seems. One so solid it could withstand any army, with strong oak doors to match. As the video keeps moving more walls and outdoor passageways come into view, decorated with lit torches and banners of red and gold. It pauses for a few moments at the castle gate, left open to show the surrounding waterways and a few brave and curious locals who do not quite dare to enter.

Finally, the video moves towards the central courtyard, where dozens of Pokémon can be seen milling about curiously. Their looks of wonder as they explore are too far to be seen but still undeniably present, just like the smile of their trainer behind the camera.

What words could Cecil possibly use, to convey all the feelings that this slight slice of home awakens within himself?]

My Greninja has decided to play hide and seek in the castle. Help.

[...Baron's greatest public speaker, ladies and gentlemen.]

[This very early morning, Cecil looks positively giddy. Alarmingly giddy, even.]

Look at these beauties! At their craftmanship! At their ornamentation!

[The beauties in question are probably meant to be the pile of Honedges that Cecil is practically shoving at the camera. Seriously, look at them.]

I'd long hoped to find proper weapons in this world someday, but I'd never imagined they'd be sentient! Or so easy to please, for that matter.

[Every single one of them looks oiled and polished already, and that is most certainly a very large and nearly empty box of chocolate on the bench behind them. Never seen a dozen happy swords being spoiled to death before? Well, now you have!]

But I suppose not everyone is lucky enough to see these lovelies for themselves. I can help with that, but if you wish to adopt one, do say so quickly. Otherwise, I might decide to keep them all for myself.

[The idea tempts him. Oh, how it tempts him.]

I'll have to teach any potential adopter proper weapon maintenance first, of course, but I've no doubt everyone here can learn quickly. It's simple, once you know the steps and have practiced a few times! First, you must-

[And that's when one of the ghost blades decides to take pity on the rest of the network, by using its tassel to turn the Pokégear off.]

Two complete years spent in this world.

[Cecil's Gear must be held by one of his Pokémon, because the man himself is sitting on a chair, his back bent and facing away.]

Two sets of badges obtained...

[Normally he'd show off said badges at this point. This time, his hands come up with bandages instead, as his back straightens and he rises for the first time in two months.]

...and two legs working perfectly again, all as of today. It looks like I've found my lucky number. Perhaps I should try my hand at the lottery?

[Yep, someone's having a very nice anniversary.]
paladinlost: (^_^)
Finding a Fire-type Gym so close to a frozen cavern was unexpected, but they seem to be doing well enough.

[Cecil looks cheerful, proud and covered by a thin layer of frost. That's what happens when the whole battle is spent under Rain Dance and said frozen cavern is visited right after, but he doesn't mind.]

Two more badges to earn by August 29. Perhaps having sixteen has more of an effect than having only Johto's eight; we'll know soon enough

[He doubts that, but it's a nice thought.]
paladinlost: (happy)
[Today, Cecil is filming a small group of Pidgeys pecking at the ground and hunting for worms. It's a rather peaceful image, really.]

Route 25 is as far north as Kanto goes, it seems. Yet the same Pidgeys and Bellsprouts that can be found between New Bark and Violet live here. I wonder what makes certain species so widespread, while others can only rarely be found even in their natural habitats?

[Two of the Pidgeys start arguing over a particularly juicy bug. He looks at the scene for a few seconds, before he starts to put the Pokégear away with a few parting words.]

...Eleven out of sixteen. I think I'll aim for Celadon next.

[Ladies and gentlemen, it must be known, for the record, that Cecil Harvey is extremely affected by the current happy mood.

How does that manifest itself, you ask? Dancing. Lots of dancing. Complete with an army of Gardevoir backup dancers. And he wants to share the joy! Therefore, if you happen to be in Saffron in the morning or Goldenrod in the afternoon, you might suddenly find yourself saddled with a very enthusiastic dancing partner. All types of dance included! He'll switch between the waltz, the flamenco, something that resembles hip hop... Partners of all ages, genders and species are welcome!

...Some of those hip thrusts might not be safe for young children's eyes, however.]

[Background: Saffron City's Pokémon Center, lobby, that nice spot with the comfy benches. Foreground: Avenger is propped against Rosie, who is snuggling up to Esuna, who is spread out halfway on Edges, who is curled up against Minerva, who is sprawled over Kayne's tail. All are sleeping.]

Truly. You'd think a good battle would have left them energized. I think the lack of talented opponents made them lazy.

[But Cecil sounds more fond of them than anything, the silly man.]

That's another badge earned, and four possible paths to follow. It's nicer than having to follow a predetermined route, I must admit.

[Even if he'll spend the next few days wondering where to go.]
paladinlost: (cute)
[Cecil's hair is  the main part of the image, once it appears. It seems to fall on it, in fact. But why would he be bent over the Pokégear?]

Everyone, I would like to wish you all a merry Christmas. I hope everyone will find joy in their lives today.

[A beat.]

...I would also like it if someone came to open the door to the Breeding Center, as Bartz's present is rather heavy. Thank you.

[Indeed, he is in front of the Center, his back nearly bent double by the enormous package on his back and his Sandshrew staring mournfully at the doorknob. Help him?]

[The feed opens on a piece of paper covered with... an oval and a square drawn with blue glitter?]

I believe that's long enough, Rosie.

[A hand that must be Rosie's takes away her latest masterwork, leaving Cecil in its place. Cecil, and a small pile of eggs set on pillows.]

It seems my Pokémon team have been enjoying themselves these last few days. Would anyone be willing to adopt the results? P1500 per egg, and for P100 I'll add one of my handmade pillows. You can also simply buy one of those, if you wish. I have plenty to sell.

[Enough so that no one will need to take the ones with bloodstains, even.]

I'm currently in Goldenrod, but I can deliver anywhere. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to ask.

[And cut!]

((ooc: There are a few eggs left! First come first served!))

[This afternoon, the sky above Cherrygrove welcomes an uncommon visitor. One that has not been in the vicinity for months, and who certainly never had the time to fly over the city before.

Quite frankly, even the change of perspective is not enough to make Cecil appreciate the view.

But he's not here for leisure or for the scenery. He's looking for Suzuki, which would be why Kayne the Dragonite tends to dip whenever they see a dark-haired trainer.

Or, well, any trainer. Cecil does like to speak to bright-eyed newcomers, after all.]
paladinlost: (giggling)
[A Rising Badge, carefully turned over and over in a man's hand, obviously being inspected from all its angles. This is the image coming from the Cecil-cam, today.]

A year, to the day. That's more than acceptable for the first part of an adventure. Or perhaps I should say that obtaining this last badge is an excellent way to celebrate my first year in this world?

[Cecil's hand finally closes around the badge, and he brings the Pokégear up to look at the sky instead.]

Would anyone know why the professor cal- No, nevermind. It's not important at the moment. Badges and anniversaries should both be celebrated. If anyone in Blackthorn wishes to join me, I'll pay for the meal and drinks.

[At a very nice restaurant, too. Let it not be said that he does not have taste.]
paladinlost: (^_^)

[There is a Gyarados on the screen. Bouncing. Up and down and up and down and- You get the picture. There might also be a squealing Clefable somewhere on top of said Gyarados, but with all that bouncing it might be hard to tell.]

I was already familar with TMs, but that move tutor also knew a surprising number of abilities, compared to the one in Ilex Forest. Does anyone have any interesting attacks to recommend, machine- or tutor-taught? I find myself hesitating between a few of them, and additional opinions would be appreciated.

[Riding a bouncing Gyarados must be pretty fun, because Cecil's Umbreon and Blissey are now trying to jump on.]

Leon, do you still need help with that house? Now that Kain has his badge, I should have the time to go. In fact, we need to discuss travel plans, travelmates. Perhaps- oh dear.

[The disadvantage of riding a bouncing Gyarados is, of course, the risk of falling off. Thus, Cecil abandons this post to go help poor Edges, who just found out that it's hard to hold on to someone when you only have paws.]

paladinlost: (happy)

[Today, Cecil is posting from the street right in front of the Olivine Gym. Flare is sitting beside him, looking tired but happy.]

Rosa, Rydia, are you both still well? Flare needs to rest first, but we'll soon be able to come find you. We'll not be long, I promise.

[Now that the most important thing he had to say is out of the way, he has a question for everyone else.]

Could anyone tell me more about the Mahogany and Blackthorn Gyms, along with the roads that lead to them? With the end of the road so close, it'd be a shame to stop now.

[Flare barks quickly in agreement, and Cecil ends the message.]

paladinlost: (^_^)

[Cecil looks particularly happy today. Is it because of the absence of angry bugs? The arrival of three new castmates? Rosa's presence? All of the above?]

Now that those bugs are gone, I can finally send the eggs I promised. I apologize for the delay. As compensation, I've added a homemade egg pillow to each of the packages.

[Subtly promoting his pillows in hopes of getting clients? You bet.]

However, many of my eggs have not yet found owners. Would anyone be interested? Most of them are Milotics, but I believe one of them is an Eevee. You can either buy them for P1000, or offer another egg as a trade. Contact me if you have any questions.

[He smiles before ending the feed.]

[[ooc: There is currently one Feebas egg free spot! (Sob, Rider.) First come, first serve! Taken! As a reminder, all the Feebas know Tackle.

Also, Cloud, Squall and Zidane will soon each be getting a care package by Pidgey post. Said care package includes three Fresh Waters, three Antidotes, three Pokéballs and one Revive. In addition to that, Squall and Zidane will receive Pokéballs containing Seifer the Gyarados and Marcus the Golem, respectively.]

paladinlost: (soft)
[The view of route 31 is nice enough. The sun is peeking between the clouds and shining upon the snow, which looks pure and untouched... Except for a small section where a Dratini is attacking every wild Pokémon he sees while a Feebas cheers him on. Luckily, their trainer is feeling too nostalgic to scold them.]

The last Pokémon I caught for myself was Esuna, nearly a month before I first reached this city. It happened not too far from the cave, in fact... But since then, my team has grown through eggs and gifts exclusively. Is it the same for anyone else?

[The camera is still pointing at route 31, but it turns a little toward the south, toward the city that lies beyond route 30.]

I'll leave for Cherrgrove tonight. I'll reach it soon, I promise.

[And the camera turns back to the training Dratini, until the feed times out.]
