104th moon [4th walls suck at keeping bats out]
[Ahhh, the last weekend of November. As nearly always, every city is invaded by dozens of confused new arrivals, strange Legendaries party like it's 1999, innocent trainers and breeders wake up on the beach or in the middle of the Ice Cave, not-so innocent Rockets do the same, Cecil's house and yard are overtaken by thousands upon thousands of shiny and non-shiny Zubats...
...Wait, what?]
If anyone could help me chase these away before this world returns to normal, it'd be much appreciated!

[Action]
[The purple pony is very horrified by this.]
[Action]
[Or, you know, thousands of bats freaking out because they've been suddenly grabbed from their homes and thrown outside into pure madness.]
They all appeared at once. I believe most of the neighbors ran away screaming.

[Twilight's horn glows bright purple for a moment, and a spherical shield of magic bubbles out around the two of them.]
There, at least we're safe now... I'm so glad I had my brother teach me this.
no subject
What a useful spell. Does it only block them from entering, or would it also stop them from randomly appearing inside?
no subject
Well... it stops teleportation, so it really ought to prevent that from happening too.
[Assuming this doesn't override her magic... which it might.]
no subject
[He'd try it out of curiosity, but. Zubats.]
no subject
... That's a stipulation that's a lot more useful in my brother's version of the spell.

[Kain is busy gaining his bearings for now, confused because while it almost seems familiar, he can't quite place it.]
Is this yet another war?
no subject
[That last part is said to the bats themselves, but they're too busy freaking out to obey.]
no subject
[Well, if these creatures are harmful, what else do you do but fight them? Kain already has his spear drawn and is attempting to make bat-kebabs.]
What are these creatures capable of? And why are there so many, Cecil?
no subject
[And their shiny version is usually not so common, but that's a very minor detail.]
They cain drain your energy, confuse you, perhaps even poison you if their levels are high enough. Be careful!
no subject
[Because there seems to be a lot of the things, so dealing with them definitely won't be an easy task. Kain still does his best, swinging his spear to try and whack away a bunch of them.]
I've never seen anything like them before... where are we, Cecil? [Hm ok well this is all ringing a bell a bit more the longer he's here.] ...why do I think I know the answer to that?
no subject
[There is now a Zubat stuck in his hair. He simply cannot allow this state of affairs to continue.]
Can you see a pair of black and blue lions nearby?

[Rosie would love to do that, really! But there's that small issue with the ten Zubats attached to her head.]

He gazes upon this bat apocalypse, jotting notes.]
Goodness. Just what have you done to set them off? Or did you leave a delicious treat unattended? Perhaps they wish to raid your home of all its treasures...
[Now wouldn't that be a thought? A... strangely terrifying one, at that.]
no subject
[...Maybe all this trying to swat them away isn't helping, Cecil.]
At least this is still a step up from the Mt. Mortar incident.
no subject
Ah... Well, you can't say that without an explanation.
[Why? Because now his curiosity's piqued. He's even got his journal flipped to a new page. Story time?]
no subject
[Which should be easy enough.]
Imagine you had been transported deep within a cave, without any of your supplies or Pokémon.
[Somewhat harder, but still doable.]
Imagine you had been transported deep within a cave without any of your supplies or Pokémon, and been left there once the world returned to normal, with no other option but to walk back to the nearest city by yourself.
[Even the most vivid imagination cannot do the pain justice.]
no subject
Ah.
At first, Ringabel is left speechless. His journal nearly drops from his grasp as he reels from the sheer horror. Granted, he's a seasoned adventure, and he's certain he'd be able to weather the storm. Likely Cecil did as well, as he's clearly still in one piece.
...disregarding the impossibility of death in this place.
Even so...]
You have my deepest sympathy, and more importantly, my respect! No doubt it took an unbelievable level of raw determination in order to weather such grueling circumstances.
[This raises another question, though--]
Was there anything remotely edible, or did you have to endure an entire journey without sustenance?
no subject
[The memory of his stay might be an unpleasant one, but he still manages a gentle smile when speaking of his Infernape.]
There was moss within the cave, and plants once we managed to reach the exit. Thankfully the water was clean and pure, more than fit for drinking.
