However, this is not a social call but an inquiry. Does anyone intend to leave Cherrygrove for Violet soon? I have offered to escort a few people there, and I was wondering if anyone would like to join us.  Having access to a Pokémon large enough to ride would be optimal, but we can share if it comes down to it. We would depart tomorrow morning. If you are interested, please contact me on the Pokégear or in person. I am currently at the inn, and would be more than happy to answer any questions.

...I do hope too many people don't want to go to Violet. Otherwise you could end up with a rather large traveling group!

Large travelling groups are wonderful. There were over twenty of us back home, and there never was a dull moment. [Between the monsters and the old bosses...]

It's no harder than travelling with a group of soldiers, and I have much experience with those. Besides, everyone did their part, without any complaints.

If you are travelling by foot, we might catch up to you. Arcanines can be quite fast, even with a rider; I doubt they are the only species with that quality.

Hello, Xion! I'm currently at the inn. Would you like to try riding on Flare, to get used to it?

The inn... Okay. I'll be there.

[ She closes the Gear and motions for Axel to follow her. Thanking the nurse, Xion rushes out of the PokeCenter and looks for what could be the inn of the city. After a minute or two, she finds the building and makes her way into it, looking for someone with Cecil's looks. ]

[Flare might be easier to find, considering his size. And the fact that his tail starts wagging the moment he sees Xion. Cecil looks up when he does, and waves.]

Xion! Over here!

[ Hears her name being called and turns over- whoa that thing really is big. Slowly and shyly makes her way to Cecil and Flare, with her tiny Axel following behind. ]

Cecil. [ And turns to the Arcanine. ] And Flare. Nice to finally meet you.

[Flare barks back in greeting, and once more for Axel. Heya there~!]

You seem well. Did you have much trouble on your journey? I hope that hailstorm was not too troublesome for you.

[ Axel energetically waves at the bigger Pokemon. Hey, yourself! Xion shakes her head. ]

There were a group of bird Pokemon I encountered yesterday. [ Gave her a scratch on the cheek, too, so she's sporting a gauze pad for the time being. ] But Axel started breathing fire at them to push them away.

[ And at this, Axel makes a proud sound, almost puffing his chest, too, if possible. Yup, he protected his Trainer alright! ]

[He frowns a little.] It's a shame healing magic does not work here. [But his smile returns quickly.] Ah, that moment where they use their first fire attack, showing the great powers they will wield someday. Did he roast Pidgeys or Hoothoots?

[Flare shows his approval with a nod. That's right, burn all the wild Pokémon that attack your trainer! Roast them! Grill them!]

[ She blinks. ] You knew magic? [ At the question of whether they were Pidgeys or Hoothoots, Xion frowns a little in contemplation. She didn't get a chance to use her PokeDex on them to know that. ] I'm not sure. They were small, mostly brown and cream colored...

[ Axel hops in agreement. Arcanine, he wants to be big and strong like you, bro. To better protect his Trainer. ]

I know a few white magic spells, though magic is far from my specialty. [That description is very familiar.] Pidgeys, then. They can be rather vicious in flocks.

[Don't worry! One day you'll evolve too, and you'll grow tall enough to scare away even mean humans!]
