Everyone, good evening. I hope this day finds you in good health.

However, this is not a social call but an inquiry. Does anyone intend to leave Cherrygrove for Violet soon? I have offered to escort a few people there, and I was wondering if anyone would like to join us. Having access to a Pokémon large enough to ride would be optimal, but we can share if it comes down to it. We would depart tomorrow morning. If you are interested, please contact me on the Pokégear or in person. I am currently at the inn, and would be more than happy to answer any questions.

[He starts turning around, stopping then restarting again, walking backwards. Might as well get her used to everything that can happen.]

You learn rather quickly. The first time I rode a chocobo, I fell to the ground and nearly broke my arm.

[ Trying to move with Flare as he turns, finding she stays on better that way. ]

A chocobo? [ She makes a worried face at that broken arm part. ]

[Teensy little jumps now, not nearly as high as they'll be if he needs to avoid a patch of ice, but there's kind of a ceiling in the way.]

A species of bird that many worlds use as mounts. They are somewhat like Doduos, if you've seen any here. Without the second head, of course.

[ With this action, she holds on even tighter, but that's to be expected. She shakes her head when Flare lands once more. ]

Where could we see these Doduos?

[He'll be nodding toward the door, now. Think you can handle a longer walk?]

I've not seen any wild ones, but my friend Bartz has his Boko. Well, it was a Doduo; it's evolved since then.

[ She glances at Cecil, then the door. She nods. ]

It sounds like there's a whole variety of Pokemon out there...

[And off they go! Flare's pace is even but brisk; Ceil walks next to them, keeping up with no trouble.]

The handbook has over two hundred of them, and three of mine are not in it. I doubt anyone has seen them all, especially us outworlders.

[ Xion looks back behind them and sees Cecil keeping up, along with Axel who's trotting after her and Flare. Despite her attention being elsewhere, her hands still stay gripped in Flare's fur. ]

Three of yours? Why not?

[Should Axel ever want to rest his paws, Cecil will be more than happy to pick him up.]

I think that is because they are not native to Johto. The Pokédex cannot identify their place of origin.

So there's other places than Johto?

We're mostly certain of it. Johto is said to be the name of this region. If it was the only one, this world would not need regions.

What are the other regions? [ Focuses back on the road Flare's walking on, before noticing that Axel's been trying to jump up at one of her feet whenever he got close enough to latch on. ]

Roxas mentioned the Kanto region; as for the others, I don't know. The Pokégear does not include that information, and I've yet to find a complete atlas of the world.

[Cecil sees that too, and comes a little closer. Need a lift up, Axel?]

[ Xion falls silent at that, wondering how many regions that could be out there. This world seems so expansive...

... and Axel stops for a moment to turn to Cecil and points at his Trainer. Yup, he wants up. ]

[Cecil smiles, and bends forward a little, joining his hands together in front of him. They're at the right height for Axel to be able to jump on Flare's back easily.]

[ And Axel does jump on and then hops onto Xion's lap. She blinks, jolted from her thoughts, but she smiles a little. ]

Thank you, Cecil. [ She looks around them as they walk. ] Will others join us? What about Pence?

I spoke to a man named Lancer earlier; he's already left Cherrygrove, but once we catch up to him he'll join us for the rest of the trip. [He frowns softly.] I think I might have spoken to Pence before I left Violet. But I cannot be certain; that young man never gave his name, and I have been unable to contact him again. Did you manage to speak to him recently?

[ She also frowns in worry. Roxas told her to try and find him... ] No, I didn't. Sorry.

Perhaps he decided to work for some time, or to wait for spring before travelling. [A lot of people end up doing that, after all. Especially these days.] Or he might answer this message, and join us tomorrow. But neither of us could force him to come if that is not his wish.

... You're right. [ Almost slumps a little, but Axel waves at her, and she can't help but grin back at him. Axel then turns to the front and calls out to Flare. Cool sights on his back, yo. ]

I hope he's okay.

[Wait till we're running in the snow. It gets all white everywhere!]

If he was not, we would have heard of it on the Pokégear, or around the Pokémon Center. I doubt he left for Violet by himself.

[ She nods. He's right again. Judging from Roxas' words, Pence is just as new as she is to this world, so he'd at least be cautious... Xion then turns to Axel, who's making a bit of noise at the expanse of white all around them. ]

Snow...

It looks much nicer when it's not part of a storm, does it not?

[ Smiles. ] Yeah, it does. [ Looks to Flare and slowly gives his mane a few thankful strokoes. ] With Flare, I don't even feel cold at all. Thank you, Cecil and Flare.

[ Axel pipes up to say his thanks, too. ]

[Flare does his very best to lean into those strokes.] You're welcome. We are glad to be of help.
