Everyone, good evening. I hope this day finds you in good health.

However, this is not a social call but an inquiry. Does anyone intend to leave Cherrygrove for Violet soon? I have offered to escort a few people there, and I was wondering if anyone would like to join us. Having access to a Pokémon large enough to ride would be optimal, but we can share if it comes down to it. We would depart tomorrow morning. If you are interested, please contact me on the Pokégear or in person. I am currently at the inn, and would be more than happy to answer any questions.

...I do hope too many people don't want to go to Violet. Otherwise you could end up with a rather large traveling group!

I'm already on my way there. Otherwise I might have joined up with you--it's almost boring on my own.

Large travelling groups are wonderful. There were over twenty of us back home, and there never was a dull moment. [Between the monsters and the old bosses...]

If you are travelling by foot, we might catch up to you. Arcanines can be quite fast, even with a rider; I doubt they are the only species with that quality.

You'll be welcome to ride behind someone else, should there be any space left. It could save you a day or two.

It's no harder than travelling with a group of soldiers, and I have much experience with those. Besides, everyone did their part, without any complaints.

I can think of worse names than one taken after a weapon. Though I always preferred swords and axes, myself.

Most people do. But at the right distance, a lance could be more lethal than both of them.

I know that well. My best friend can be rather dangerous with them, especially in the air.

If you ask me, there's nothing more dangerous than a spear thrown by the right person. Particularly from midair.

Especially a spear with the right type of elemental power, against a monster that dislikes that particular element. That one blessed spear we once found was particularly efficient.

My own wasn't exactly blessed. Kind of the exact opposite.

What do you mean, 'elemental power'?

He had a cursed spear, too, but it worked terribly against the undead. He soon replaced it.

My world has eight elements: water, fire, lightning, ice, earth, wind, light and darkness. They mostly concern spells, but weapons can also be enchanted with their power. Blessed weapons are light-elemental.

I could never replace mine. It's the best weapon in the world as far as I'm concerned.

Makes sense. I'd guess cursed ones would be darkness-elemental, following that logic?
