104th moon [4th walls suck at keeping bats out]

[Ahhh, the last weekend of November. As nearly always, every city is invaded by dozens of confused new arrivals, strange Legendaries party like it's 1999, innocent trainers and breeders wake up on the beach or in the middle of the Ice Cave, not-so innocent Rockets do the same, Cecil's house and yard are overtaken by thousands upon thousands of shiny and non-shiny Zubats...

...Wait, what?]

If anyone could help me chase these away before this world returns to normal, it'd be much appreciated!

...Yet I'd be happy to witness his fury, if it meant seeing him again after so long.

I keep forgetting how long you’ve truly been here for… I only hope you get to return one day, or perhaps that he and more of the others end up here as I did.

Certain people are luckier than others, for such matters. we've had groups of dozens arrive from the same world within weeks of each other, before.

Dozens? I wonder what causes that to happen… why some people and not others. How fortunate for those who have so many comrades here, though.

It's been a mystery for ages... though it appears children are most often the ones affected, thankfully for them.

I suppose that's for the best, for their sakes. I dread to think what would happen if Palom and Porom were here without some adult around alongside them...

[Well, ok, they'd probably be just fine because Porom is more adult than some adults, let's face it. She'd keep her brother in line. Still. They may be an odd exception as far as children go.]

The removal of their magic would make travelling more difficult than it would otherwise be, but they are both resourceful. They'd quickly learn how to best work with their new Pokémon. ...And perhaps even each other.

[Between bouts of bickering and nagging and general siblinghood.]

I'm sure they'd find a way to make it work, even without their usual powers... though working together, that would be even more of a challenge.

[Exactly. How many times did one of them have to pry the two apart, break up an argument. Though it's no different than how they were as kids themselves, really. Kain kind of gets where Palom is coming from when it comes to instigating trouble and picking on others.]

They can do so very well, when it is truly necessary. But very few things are necessary in this world, though they make our journeys more comfortable.

[And that's not even taking into account their slow drift apart. Perhaps they'd come from a time when it has already started...]

Journeys, hm? At least you've been able to travel around this world then...

[Which would be strange to Kain, who's used to the tiny versions of the two.]

It's not that we are able. We are encouraged, and once in a while we are even forced. Not that those two would need to be forced.

[The fashions senses are stranger than the sizes, let's be honest.]

Forced? For what reason and by whom?

Forced by circumstances. Those who wake up in the middle of the Ice Path during such days have no choice but to leave, unless they wish to lose toes.

Some greeting. That's not exactly a pleasant way to arrive... but I suppose those with the right survival skills manage to make it out of there...

Survival skills without resources or supplies are less useful than receiving a Fire-type, for most who find themselves in that situation.

Well, I suppose with the fire type you could at least easily start a campfire, if nothing else...

You could also set the poisonous bats on fire. Few skills are more helpful.

How useful. That certainly sounds like the best way to handle poisonous bats, though.

It scares them off for sometime. They always return, of course, but every moment of peace is appreciated.

They sound like a real nuisance. It's worth getting rid of them for a time, in that case.

When are bats not a nuisance? Even when they do not number in the thousands, they are dangerous opponents.

A real nuisance... I assume these bats here are strong attackers? Or have some sort of magic as well?

[paladinlost]

They are swifter than most opponents, poisonous, and able to steal their target's energy. These qualities make for a very unpleasant fight.

[dragoon_pride]

I'll keep that in mind, should I ever find myself faced with such opponents.
