[Ahhh, the last weekend of November. As nearly always, every city is invaded by dozens of confused new arrivals, strange Legendaries party like it's 1999, innocent trainers and breeders wake up on the beach or in the middle of the Ice Cave, not-so innocent Rockets do the same, Cecil's house and yard are overtaken by thousands upon thousands of shiny and non-shiny Zubats...

...Wait, what?]

If anyone could help me chase these away before this world returns to normal, it'd be much appreciated!

No, I wouldn't encourage it. The last thing it needs is someone else trying to destroy it...

It happens often enough as it is. I'd rather see my grandchildren and great-grandchildren have peaceful lives.

It's some dream, the notion of peace. I can't imagine it truly ever happening... not for long, anyway. There will always be something.

Something which might not necessarily involve the destruction of our world. I hope.

I certainly hope not. It gets tiring, having to constantly save the world, after all.

That it does. It's stressful, too, to think that the world might end if we were to fall ill, or too busy to see the danger in time.

That's the reason why I rarely rest. I keep trying to tell the healers that...

[They never listen, unfortunately.]

Resting does help fighting illness, you know. It's not as if they are always wrong to suggest it.

They often exaggerated the severity of it, though.

If I can remember a child's thousand firsts, I can surely remember the success rate of a healer's predictions and advice.

You're about to tell me those healers were always right, aren't you?

Perhaps not always, but more often than you'd admit.

Clearly. Because I seem to remember them overreacting quite a few times.

A handful of times or so, yes, usually when dealing with bloody but shallow wounds, or the tail end of illnesses.

All of which hasn't killed me yet, but I've only become stronger from all of those experiences.

[Oh, those other times. Kain doesn't want to think about those other times.]

I apologize if I've ever caused worry.

I'll do my best to keep it to a minimum, if I can. I promise.

I'll hold you to that. Perhaps a new law concerning dragoons and the number of days of worry they can cause in a year is necessary.

Hm... that sounds like an incredibly unfair law.

Of course, but I've no doubt it'd receive great popular support. Especially from the castle's inhabitants.

But certain dragoons might object! It's- it's unfair... it's not as if we mean to cause worry, after all...

...But the worry still exists, does it not? We cannot help it.

Well... perhaps it exists, but it needn't be such strong worry. There's really no need.
