[Many objects are piling up in front of the Pokégear: food reserves, drinks, Potions of all kinds, enough Ice Heals to last a month, Pokéballs... Could someone be insane enough to brave the tempest?]

Squall, Suzuki, I'm leaving for Goldenrod; I need to buy a few items. Would you like me to bring you back anything? Oh, and Squall, a young lady was looking for you.

[Rosie appears, bearing a few Escape Ropes. She dumps them next to the pile before looking around for gloves.]

I'll try to defeat the Gym leader during my stay. Light, Firion, Bartz, Zidane, Miss Lenna, we could meet up at the Sudowoodo after that.

[But already he's paying more attention to his supplies than to his Pokégear. Avenger sighs and turns it off.]

That's wonderful! _{[Iris looks pleased at the prospect of meeting Mr. Harvey.]} I can't wait!

I'll do my best. I'm used to cold weather, so I should be just fine. _{[She smiles.]}

That would be nice. We'll have to find a nice little café or a restaurant. Talking is much more fun with warm beverages.

That must be a great advantage, right now. There is much more snow than I expected there would be; our winters tend to be milder, at this time of the year.

That would be lovely. A warm drink is always the best during this season.

_{[Iris smiles.]} Yes, all this snow has brought back many memories of home...I do hope it doesn't get too warm here during the summer. But you would enjoy that wouldn't you? You said you home was in a desert didn't you?

Only next to the desert, luckily. But I do like warmer days. They make swimming in the moat even more enjoyable.

Swimming in the moat?! _{[Guess who's never been swimming before!]} B-But what if you drown?

The advantage to swimming in the moat is that there are castle guards close by. Should anything happen, they can come to our rescue.

Oh I see! So the guards are like the moat's lifeguards then...

Unofficially. They couldn't let townschildren drown simply because it was not part of their job description. No one would stand for that.

That's so noble of them.

_{[Iris giggles.]} Do you swim with the townschildren Mr. Harvey?

I have no more time for that, sadly. The few moments of peace I manage to find are spent with my wife and son, instead.

That's too bad. It's sounds like fun. I've never been swimming before...Is it hard to learn?

Well, I'm sure your wife and son appreciate that. _{[She smiles.]}

Swimming itself is simple enough, as long as you have a good teacher. The technique takes somewhat more work, however.

Really? Maybe when the weather is warmer I could give it a try. Would you mind...teaching me?

It would be my pleasure. I'll look around for nice beaches. Cherrygrove is lovely, but going back there would take too long, especially if we all keep moving.

Yes...I don't think I would like to travel that far back, even if Cherrygrove was a lovely place. Is there any place near Goldenrod that has a beach? That is where we are both headed...although, we have plenty of time to look around. I don't think anyone would want to swim in this weather. _{[Iris giggles.]}

Goldenrod itself is by the water, I believe. But I do not yet know if it has any beaches, and we'd have to make sure the water is clean enough to swim in.

R-Really? I didn't know that....That's true. And....can you swim in salt water and clear water. There is such a thing...isn't there?

I'm mostly worried about the pollution, really. Beyond that, any kind of water is fine. ...Except ice.

Pollution? How terrible!

Ice? Well, ice is good for ice-skating at least.

Populated cities tend to be more polluted, sadly.

But that only works if there are lakes around. And ice skates, of course.

That's awful! The poor plants..._{[Iris looks upset.]}

...I guess you're right. But you said there was water near Goldenrod...would that work for ice-skating?

Then again, getting rid of waste without upsetting anything is a challenge greater than my world can manage.

It might. We'd have to chech it out directly to be certain.

Your world...Does your world have pollution as well?

I wouldn't be surprised if every world had some form of pollution.

I'm sure many people in Goldenrod would love to go ice skating together.

_{[Iris sighs.]} I suppose so. I know of no world without it.

I have so many friends in Goldenrod. It would be fantastic! Would you ice-skate if we went Mr. Harvey?
