[Every day, many wasteful acts are committed across the world: nearly empty shampoo bottles are thrown away, ice cream bowls are not carefully scraped clean with a spoon, quality cold cuts are not placed between slices of freshly-baked bread, regained magic is not cast...

Cecil Harvey is not a wasteful person.

In fact, he's such an unwasteful person that he spends a large part of the weekend teleporting up to random confused souls, offering them ice cream and sandwiches aplenty, and teleporting away.

All of that with hair that looks like it came out of a shampoo commercial, of course.]

How can they be so limited? Does no one train them to show them how to reach their full potential?

They speak of their training quite often, and a few such as the Gym leaders use multiple teams of varying levels, but beyond that...

We've had a dozen species change their elemental affinity in the middle of the night. Would you consider that strange enough?

It certainly would be... How is that even possible?

[They were asleep, it's hard to tell.]

And how is that even possible? Was it some sort of god’s doing?

[They do have a thing for wars and such, after all.]

Possibly. That llama did offer some extremely impressive displays of power when it saved us, after all.

How unexpected... I wasn't aware that llamas had so much power.

This world's llama is unique, as far as I know. That might be the source of its power.

Well, that explains it. [And doesn't at the same time.] There are a lot of strange things on this world, apparently...

That is quite possibly the understatement of the century. The Pokémon are only a small part of it, in fact.

What else is there?

[Most of the visits he’s had seem so distant and almost dreamlike though he recalls some things, and most of it had to do with the strange creatures native to this land. But if there’s more beyond that...]

No one dies. People who suffer fatal injuries find themselves teleported to the nearest Pokémon Center, in one piece.

That sounds like either a blessing or a curse, depending on how you look at it. It does sound helpful, though…

It's helpful enough when an Onix accidentally tramples you, but I doubt everyone would have taken it as well as that girl did.

Dare I ask? How do you take a trampling well, Cecil? An Onix must be something rather large...

She was... surprisingly cheery, when she shared her misadventure with the network after the fact. Even though the weight of a nine-metre-long rock snake must have been painful to feel.

That sounds incredibly painful indeed. Though I suppose coming out of such an incident is a worthy reason to brag.

She certainly had great fortitude. Not everyone would have taken the pain so well.

She would have done well in the gods’ war, then. Not that I wish more people to be caught up in that conflict, mind you...

She'd have done well mentally, but in battle... Few are the people here who are properly trained.

Then it’s up to those who know how to fight to train them, isn’t it? [Gives Cecil a significant look, yes, of course he means people like him.] It would be for their own good.
