"Celebi is an extremely playful species. Its main ability is the power to travel through time." Or so the Professor said.

[Today's quote should sound quite familiar to anyone who watched last week's EV NEWS. So should the Cele-Berry Meringue waiting in front of the Gear, for that matter. Homemade and fresh, thank you very much.]

Bringing back a spring snow after weeks of summer heat matches both sentences perfectly, if you ask me. Has anyone thought to look for legendary Pokémon around their garden today?

[Not that Cecil himself has, of course. Nope.]

enjoymyatelier: actually, it totally will. (aha! a plan that will not end in failure)

That may not be as much of a problem if they're simply owned by trainers overseeing the operation... but you're right that Chansey would be the best choice there either way. There's less risk, they have plenty of healing potential... practically every Pokemon in that line would work very well there.

That would make a lot of sense, actually. Though it could just be that they operate on different channels than we do; I suspect there are natives that operate as breeders, but I haven't seen them offer their services on the network.

...granted, that's not much of a surprise given that I haven't seen any natives on the network, aside from the occasional gym leader...

Exactly-it's completely baffling. You'd think they'd even just use it for the things we generally use it for, but... that isn't the case at all. I could possibly chalk it up to a general dislike of technology, but I've never been terribly fond of technology and I still use it.

I suppose it's just one of those idiosyncrasies that the natives display on occasion, like telling you the most inane things before challenging you to a battle and having parties of six of the same Pokemon.

You'd think both of those kinds of Pokemon would want to evolve, given how... unfortunate they are in their unevolved state.

Even so, Butterfree can stay close enough to the ground... it's not like they don't have limbs, even if they're a bit small. That, and I'm sure it's still better than being a Caterpie.
enjoymyatelier: just imagine the crossed arms and this is von karma as balls (are you cross examining a parrot)

Honestly, I imagine the added type weaknesses wouldn't even be that much of a factor, given that it would probably be equally durable prior to evolving. I suppose they could simply stay Metapod forever, but... that seems like it would be awfully dull.

I wonder if things go differently for them in the wild... trained ones at least seem to keep their offensive moves even if they aren't terribly good, but the wild Metapod and Kakuna I've encountered have only used Harden. Perhaps surviving long enough in that state is an equivalent method that allows them to evolve...

If it's anything like regular insects... well, who knows? Caterpillars don't take anywhere near that long, but if they're more like cicadas... well, we just don't know. It would probably be a bit difficult to observe, as well, given how wild Pokemon behave.

It's difficult to say, really. Going by normal genetics, differently colored animals are rare for a reason... but there's really nothing normal about how Pokemon operate, so I can imagine a shiny Caterpie having just as much of a chance as a regular Caterpie even if it stands out more.

...ah, yes, there's that, too. Then again, I'm quite sure the average Metapod wouldn't be terribly difficult to simply pick up and carry... you wouldn't own it the way you'd own a Pokemon captured in a Pokeball, so it would still be wild on some level.

Well, I can't really say I care what they think, so long as there's no legal ramifications. Getting jailed simply because I want to see how something works would make it more trouble than it was worth.
