[Today's quote should sound quite familiar to anyone who watched last week's EV NEWS. So should the Cele-Berry Meringue waiting in front of the Gear, for that matter. Homemade and fresh, thank you very much.]

Bringing back a spring snow after weeks of summer heat matches both sentences perfectly, if you ask me. Has anyone thought to look for legendary Pokémon around their garden today?

[Not that Cecil himself has, of course. Nope.]

What, really? How does that even work?

I was brought to another world to fight a war, years and years ago. The memories of that time faded away the moment the battle was over, and I spent the next seventeen years at home, recalling nothing of it. Yet when I found myself here and saw some of the friends I'd made at the time, those memories returned.

I suppose a lot of things about this place aren't anything new to you, then, are they? At least in that regard, anyway. It sounds like the other instance gave you a more obvious purpose.

Though, the fact that this world can do things like that has incredibly interesting implications. I guess if it can take away memories of our stay here when we leave, it can easily grant us ones that would otherwise be inaccessible to us.

Our purpose was more obvious, but it also came with a less-than-healthy dose of amnesia and secrets. For all its strangeness, at least Johto has never made me forget my wife or my friends. Mine is not an isolated case, either. About ten of my comrades also recovered memories of that world or memories it took from them during their stay here.

I suppose you can't get out of having some sort of arbitrary secrecy, though that's even worse than this. Granted, I'm sure the amnesia wouldn't be quite as bad until after the fact, but what goes on here seems bad enough...

You all weren't from the same world, then, I presume?

We were not, mostly. Two people were taken from each world represented, and those people were placed on opposite sides of the conflict, without exceptions. Or at least, that is what happened in the cycle I remember. I hear there was more variety during the previous ones.

I see... so, it's just something that's happened multiple times with different people? What was the point of it, anyway? I'd presume that something like that would have some ulterior purpose to it --- after all, those sorts of things usually do.

There was a war between the goddess of harmony and the god of discord. They needed warriors to do their fighting, as Cosmos had no ability for battle and Chaos cared little for it.

...That... does seem to be very typical of gods, doesn't it...? Though, did they have dominion over your respective worlds, or were they just completely unrelated deities?

...You know, I have no idea. It would have been interesting to know, but we were too busy at the time to ask too many questions.

Understandable. ...really, I wouldn't have been surprised either way.

Then again, the world in which we fought was in a terrible state. Perhaps that is a sign that they were too busy fighting over it to influence others in any manner.

...Again, I'm not surprised. One would hope that a goddess of harmony would spare more thought for the lives of mortals, but apparently not.

In her defense, there were no mortals left in that world, beyond ourselves and the moogles.

...what are moogles, even? From that, I'm going to presume they're not particularly suited to combat.

They resemble white teddy bears with purple bats wings, a large red nose and a pompom over their head. I've never seen any fight, but they did cause quite a lot of damage when Tidus kicked them at opponents.

...Well, that's creative. One wonders why the gods didn't discover that unique property and start throwing them at each other.

Neither of them had the training of a professional athlete. That would have made that tactic less efficient.

They're gods, though. Surely it isn't too far beyond them to hurl small mammals at each other with extreme prejudice.

Cosmos's dress was obviously not made to take motion into account. That said, Chaos had no such excuse.

Then the whole thing makes sense on her part, I suppose, though not so much on his. Granted, judging by the name, I get the impression that Chaos is more the sort to do things just to throw things into disarray rather than following some other train of logic.

He showed himself before us only to kill her; that caused plenty of disarray, to be sure. But beyond that, I only faced him once, so I've no idea how he acted around his own warriors.
