Finding a Fire-type Gym so close to a frozen cavern was unexpected, but they seem to be doing well enough.

[Cecil looks cheerful, proud and covered by a thin layer of frost. That's what happens when the whole battle is spent under Rain Dance and said frozen cavern is visited right after, but he doesn't mind.]

Two more badges to earn by August 29. Perhaps having sixteen has more of an effect than having only Johto's eight; we'll know soon enough

I know. With any luck, I'll get caught up on the gym challenge and be prepared to take that road soon.

You must know what you need to win the first few and how to obtain that, at least.

I do. I expect it'll be easy enough after my team is leveled appropriately. We're looking forward to the challenge.

If it's too easy, it'll not be a challenge at all.

Such a peaceful world is to be enjoyed, after all. It would be a shame to ruin that.

It is. It really would be. It's rare to find a peaceful place, let alone a world.

Or even merely a world where the local monsters have little wish to kill us, without even counting more unexpected threats.

You're telling me. It's a little on the strange side, but refreshing.

I'll not complain about it, no matter how much I miss having access to my weapons.

I know that feeling very well. I'm not entirely sure I'll ever get totally used to it.

You won't. But you'll learn to ignore it most of the time.

Before the end of the year, I've no doubt. This world will probably distract us along the way.

It honestly wouldn't surprise me. It does have a tendency to do as much and at the most unexpected of moments.

Or during certain foreign holidays. The problem is knowing which.

That's true. I can't say I've heard of the holidays celebrated in this world. It's kind of strange. I can't say I don't appreciate the experience, though. At least a little bit.

Last February was certainly pleasant. And I do remember the tree-decorating from two years ago fondly.

Maybe Johto will keep me around for the next ones. I certainly hope so.

And hopefully it'll not run out of ideas before then.
