[Cecil is out shopping in the Department Store. Again, you might want to say. But this time he holds the Pokégear with his left hand while the rest of his body is buried by bags and boxes of all kinds, and people can see a feminine hand adding more to the pile every so often.]

I would like to thank everyone who has sent me gifts. All of your choices were extremely thoughtful, and I have no doubt I will enjoy all of them.

[The feminine hand adds another bag. He waits until it leaves.]

I would also like to apologize to every trainer who might have wanted to challenge Whitney this afternoon. I was unaware that drying her tears would involve taking over her day. On my honor, I swear I will try to convince her to return to the Gym before nightfall.

Ah, no, they're- [Another bag! Of female undergarments!] -Miss Whitney's purchases. I offered to take her shopping after her defeat and she liked the idea. [Liked it too much, even.]

I was exploring west of Ecruteak, and I found this sweet little kitten, cleaning her paws by the road. I thought the two of you might get along.

From the same source as all the other eggs, probably. But I know no further details.

Oh! _{[Iris giggles.]} I suppose she can afford a lot being a Gym Leader...

...That's so strange! Perhaps they are from who ever brought us here. Do you have any idea what sort of Pokemon is inside your egg?

Something ladylike, perhaps? I cannot think of any good name for a cat.

I don't know. The egg itself is yellow and brown. A Ground-type, perhaps?

I'm sure she'd appreciate a ladylike name. Neither can I really. _{[She giggles.]} I've never owned a cat before, although I've always liked them.

It's possible. I've never seen a Ground-type before, but those colors sound about right. I have no idea with mine. What sort of Pokemon are pink? I think it could end up being anything really. It's exciting but slightly nerve-racking.

There is always Coeurl, but that might be too monstruous for such a lovely cat.

Rosie is pink. So is Aerith's Blissey. But they're the only ones I can think of.

Coeurl? I've never heard of that name before? Where did you come up with it? Perhaps something royal...like Elizabeth or Victoria.

It's the name of a panther-like monster from my world. But I do like Elizabeth.

It could be a Miltank, like Whitney's. But it does not appear to have any dark patches.

I don't think you can say a Pokémon will be viscious because of its species. It might look dangerous but be quite sweet.

That's true! My friend Shadow had a Houndour-Houndoom now-and he was the sweetest thing.

Even Flare will become rather imposing, yet there is no kind Pokémon around.

My friend Miles' Growlithe evolved today! She's so large. Poor Miles was frightened half to death! But she's a dear really.

With Arcanine's size, your friend will be able to sleep on her, if he wants. And I'm certain she'd let him do it.

That would be so sweet! He seems so tiny standing next to her now! He's only ten, so he's rather small to begin with, but now he seems ever smaller!

Rosa could have a Chansey, with their healing powers and gentle disposition. Or perhaps a Flying-type, to complement her talent at archery. As for Ceodore, it would have to be a very enthusiastic Pokémon. A Growlithe would suit him well.

My wife and I are both renowned in our kingdom. Being forever compared to us... I think it had a negative effect on his self-confidence.

The best Pokémon would thus be one that can combine both of those aspects, but that could be hard to find.

We both do our best to encourage him, but I fear our efforts have little effect.

I could not say, but if we are able to... our worlds are very different from theirs.

We manage to survive here, do we not? They could learn to live in our worlds, too. I believe it.

[Plus whatever will happen during the supposed Chaos storylines. And all the potential comments about the third costumes. 'So, what happened to Tidus' shirt anyway?' 'The moogle ate it.' 'Your best friend attacked me!' 'Dear old Kain, he never changes.']

Even I did not quite remember the rest of you, before I saw you all once again. They might show up without their memories, but that doesn't mean they won't recognize us. Besides, our hearts are connected, no matter what.

Yet my memories of that time are still confused, unless I concentrate on them. I... have trouble recalling Terra's and the Onion Knight's faces, sometimes.

I suppose it makes sense. It has been... seventeen years, for you. Memory blurs, with time. [Though he isn't exactly speaking from experience.] There are some things about them that are more difficult to forget, however.

I can recall their powers perfectly; Terra's magic, her esper form, the Onion Knight's ability to become a sage or a ninja... But I cannot recall their hair colors. It's a small thing, I know, but it still feels strange.

Terra's is green, and the Onion Knight's is reddish-blonde. He would wear beads in it as well, underneath the helmet.

If there is anything about it you cannot remember, you need only ask, Cecil. I believe it would only take a simple reminder to refresh your memory.

...That helmet. The whole thing was bigger than his head, and by themselves the feathers were nearly longer than my hair. I remember that.

What about that short woman? Shantotto? Do you know what happened to her? ...Not that I would want her to join us. That laugh was terrifying.

We always found him safe and sound, somehow. Well, unless you count the colds he caught from the cold water.

I guess the colds are punishment enought for worrying you and your wife. [She giggles a bit.] It sounds like he's been a little warrior even at a young age. How old was he when he started running off to the waterways?

He picked up that habit at the grand age of six. I think that's why Rosa agreed to start his swordsmanship lessons early.

Ah! Did you teach him everything you know about fighting?

I taught him the sword and the dagger, Rosa taught him the bow, the staff and White Magic, and we hired a tutor for the spear. We wanted him to have a good education.

I can tell. Did he master all of those methods of fighting?

His specialties are the sword and White Magic, but he fights quite well with all of them. It's a shame he showed no talent for axes.

At least, he was able to master fighting with weapons and using White magic, too. It would have been a shame if he didn't have any talent for sword fighting or magic, right?

Had that been the case, we would simply have found out his other, less combat-oriented talents.

Parents really do have that special talent finding their children's talents, hm? No matter how hard it seems to be.

It wouldn't have been hard to find Ceodore's. He's a hard worker, and he loves new experiences. [Yes, Cecil is the bragging type of dad, why do you ask?]

Awwww, I can tell you have a strong bond with your son. It makes me feel a tiny bit envious of him now.

[She can tell by the way he speaks very well about his son. Btw, she will still lecture him if he ignores Cecil once he finds his way to Johto.]

He's our only child, so we ended up pouring all our love and attention on him. But if you want, I can try to figure out your talents.
