The route northwest of Viridian is closed. Trainers are currently not allowed to cross it, not even to see if the Elite Four is truly waiting beyond.

That leaves route 26 to the south and route 28 to the west. If anyone knows where they lead, I'd appreciate any information. ...Or perhaps I should go back and-

Which you can access after doing an errand for whoever holds the key to the basement's door. Most likely a time-consuming errand, too.

Or by defeating a very well-raised dragon that is much stronger than any of the local monsters or Pokémon. Twice, possibly.

We might be lucky to have a chance to heal our Pokemon between those two battles, too. Unless it's one battle after another.

I wouldn't doubt that and their power. But I found that any time monsters said that, people would somehow defeat them.
