Finding a Fire-type Gym so close to a frozen cavern was unexpected, but they seem to be doing well enough.

[Cecil looks cheerful, proud and covered by a thin layer of frost. That's what happens when the whole battle is spent under Rain Dance and said frozen cavern is visited right after, but he doesn't mind.]

Two more badges to earn by August 29. Perhaps having sixteen has more of an effect than having only Johto's eight; we'll know soon enough

I'm not planning on leaving, so I'd like to, while I'm allowed to stay here. Still, I'm in no hurry.

I could visit the cities during summer and spring, when it's easier to move around, and stay in Cherrygrove to help the newcomers during winter.

That sounds as though it could work out very well for everyone involved, barring sudden snowstorms in July.

I wouldn't be surprised of something like that, to be sincere...

...Quite frankly, neither would I at this point.

Well, it's just one more thing to be prepared for, right?

I admit that after some time, I've come to consider that unpredictability one of this place's charms.

Not as charming as the local critters, I hope.

Of course, such interesting and close companions aren't something one can find anywhere.

Most monsters are not nearly so friendly.

We didn't have many monster-shaped monsters back in my world, but I can vouch for that.

What sorts of monsters did you have, then?

A few human-shaped ones, I'd say.

Such as amazons, sorceresses and undead?

Mostly witches and businessmen.

I do believe that all worlds that know magic have the first, and that all without exception have the second.

That much is true, as far as I know.

Though businessmen usually have the decency of not ambushing us in dark caves.
