Well, of course. None of us spent that long in that particular world, after all.

Which is certainly fortunate for the others who went to that manikin battle... I assume they must have returned to their worlds as well.

Lightning looks well enough, at the very least. Certainly alive and healthy.

Let's just say I may have finally met a match to Rosa's level of stubbornness.

That's hardly a bad thing, when the world needs such stubbornness.

Perhaps it's a side effect of not being raised as a ward of the king. They might be more encouraged to develop that quality.

It seems like a theory with some sense to it.

We'd need nore wards of the king for a proper comparison, though.

I don't know that any others existed, unless there was some deep secret we don't know about.

Certainly none manifested themselves over the years. If there were others, they might be dead by now.

Quite so, for us never to have heard of them or met them.

...Which is somewhat depressing to think about. If the king lost many wards before taking us in...

I'd not considered that, but it's likely he may have.

Surely he'd hoped to find worthy heirs much earlier, without sons of his own.

He ended up with one, regardless...

Two, but he must have hoped for more time to ensure that another generation would follow. Otherwise, the same situation would have taken place once more.
