[Upon reaching Azalea, Cecil did three things.

First, he admired the beauty of the snow-covered town, and let himself enjoy the peace and quiet, so different from the city that had housed him for over a week.

Second, he visited the local Gym, challenged its leader, and came out of it with a brand new badge and a very proud team.

Third, he reached the Pokémon Center and collapsed on the first couch he found, with his Pokémon spread all over him. Hey, he spent the last nine days walking in the snow, anyone would feel a little tired.

_{['Ronald gives a jubilant bark. 'Yes! My momma's in Goldenrod right now with her little trainer!'

Bikini tilts her head in question. 'Flare? Who's that? A teammate?']}

['That's great! You could invite them both, and any other teammates they might have!'

Leviathan uses her fin to point at the Growlithe sleeping on Cecil's face. 'That's him. After the two of us, he's the youngest on our team, but he fought in the Gym battle today!']

_{[Bikini has to duck to avoid Ronald's rapidly wagging tail.

'Wow! He must be so strong!' Bikini gives the Growlithe an appreciative look, while Ronald gives Lydia a weird look and then-'Well of course! All of us Growlithes are real tough! Maybe he's my distant cousin or something!']}

['He's pretty strong, yes. And he could be. His mama came from the lab, was your mama from there too?']

_{['Yep! That's where my momma came from too! How cool! Maybe we are distant cousins then!'

'When he wakes up, you better tell him about me? Alright?']}

['We'll definitely tell him! He knows all sorts of cool attacks; maybe he'll be able to show you tricks that will make your trainer really happy!']

_{['Really?! That'd be so cool!' Ronald wiggles with excitement. 'I can't wait!']}

['Is your trainer nice?' Leviathan is quite interested in trainers. 'She seems like a nice lady.']

_{['Uh huh! She got me when I was just an egg!' Ronald nods enthusiastically. 'But she's had Bikini for forever!'

'I was her starter!' Bikini says proudly. 'I was with her the day she got here!']}

['Really?' Leviathan is impressed. 'Do you have any other teammates?'

Lydia adds their group's description. 'Rosie was his starter, Avenger and Esuna were caught, Flare and Leviathan were eggs, and I was a gift.']

_{[Ronald thinks for a second. 'Well, Bikini and me, and then there's Dollie, Breeze, Lizzie and Noelle. Noelle's the new one. She just hatched a couple days ago!' He motions with his nose to the Happiny, who is visible behind him in Iris' arms. 'She's still a baby.'

Bikini nods. 'Sounds like you have a lot of teammates too! Ronald and Noelle were both eggs of course, Elizabeth was a gift, I was the starter, and everybody else just found our trainer.']}

[Lydia frowns thoughtfully. 'I've seen a lot of babies on the network. Where did our trainers find so many eggs?'

Leviathan smiles. 'Both of our team are made up of six members! But ours says that if we get new ones, someone will have to stay in storage. I don't want to go there.']

_{[Bikini shakes her head. 'I have no idea. Noelle's egg just showed up on Christmas.'

Ronald looks horrified. 'St-Storage? No way! That's not gunna happen to me! I'm sure our Trainers wouldn't put us there unless it was for a really good reason.']}

['So did Levia. My first duty was to help keep her warm.'

'That's why we're not getting new friends yet. Our trainer wants to find a way to keep us all together.']

_{['That's so nice of you! It must have been hard work. My trainer carried Noelle's egg wrapped in a hat most of the time. I think it was a Christmas present.]}

Ronald seems to calm down a little, but he still doesn't look very happy. 'Yeah I guess. But having no new friends is boring. But...I guess it is sorta nice of them to do that for us. Bikini can be pretty nice...once in a while.]

['We'd snuggle in the same scarf during the day, and at night Flare would sleep right next to us. It was nice.'

'We can make new friends with Pokémon that already have trainers, then. That way, no one will have to go into storage. Only once in a while?']

_{['That does sound nice. It must have been really easy to keep the egg warm with Flare helping!'

'That's true!' And Ronald perks up again, tail wagging. 'Oh yeah. Bikini's pretty cool but because she's the oldest she acts like she knows everything.' He sticks his little pink tongue in Bikini's direction, but either she hadn't heard him or she is purposefully ignoring him. He pouts. 'Just 'cause I'm younger than she is doesn't mean I don't know stuff.']}

['Yup! But if it had been summer, I would have pushed him away. That much fur is only nice during the winter.'

'Grown-ups can be like that, sometimes. Avenger likes to tease, and Rosie always acts like a mom. At least Esuna and Flare don't do that. But we all get along, when it comes down to it.']

_{[Bikini laughs. 'True. I wonder how Ronald will fare during the summer. Do you think Growlithes can overheat?'

'I guess so...Yeah. We're a pretty good group. Our trainer's the best though! She got me a bow tie for Christmas!' Eager to show off, Ronald runs off screen for a second and returns with a red bow tie in his mouth. 'See?']}

['I bet they'll all be begging for some ice or snow within a week. We might have to shave them all~.'

'That's a very nice bowtie! My trainer only gave me an attack, but he lets me use his make-up and his accessories. He has lots of pretty colors!']

_{['Shave them?!' Bikini looks a little grossed out. 'I don't know... I don't think Ronald would look good without his hair. He'd look like a Rattata!'

'Aw thanks! Me and Breeze are the only two that got 'em. I guess 'cause bow ties are for guys. Attacks are cool! I wish I had some more myself. Make-up?' Ronald looks curious. 'What sorta make-up is it?'}

['My trainer wants to use Flare's future shed hair to make egg pillows. But it makes him look like a Rattata, perhaps he shouldn't.'

'Probably. I mean, they have 'tie' in their name. And he has all sorts of make-up, but I can only use stuff like the lipstick and the blush. I don't have nails for the nail polish, after all.']

_{['Egg pillows? That's a good idea, but maybe Flare's hair isn't the way to go. If you didn't shave him and just relied on his shed hair it would take a long time to finish even one pillow. Unless he sheds a lot.

'That's true! Hey, I never thought about that!' After the explanation about makeup, Ronald looks down at his paws. 'I sorta have nails. Does that mean I'm supposed to wear nail polish?']}

[Lydia looks around furtively before whispering. 'Don't tell anyone, but our trainer bought a stone to make Flare evolve. They'll use it in a week or two. After that, Flare will have lots of fur to shed, and we'll make gigantic pillows!'

'Only if you want to, I think. I'm the only one in my team who wears some, except Rosie sometimes.']

_{['R-Really? Flare's so lucky. It'll be ages until any of us will evolve. Except maybe Ronald if Iris can get him a fire stone too.

'Huh. Well, I guess I better try it just in case. Maybe when we watch that Gym match you could show me...?' Ronald scratches his nose shyly.]}
