After many battles against the local Grimer population, I've come to the conclusion that Bloobers are not Poison-types, leaving only sixteen other possibilities.

[Cecil is probably not the only one that has figured that out by now, but he looks quite solemn as he shares that particular bit of information.]

That said, while they are not poisonous, eating their slime is a terrible idea for both humans and Pokémon, including those who can normally eat burnt food without any trouble. It should not be attempted, even on a dare, unless you enjoy messes and unpleasant stomach aches.

[A very Arcanine-like whine can be heard some distance away, followed by an unhappy gurgle.

Cecil drops the Serious PSA face and sighs, shooting a quick glare at the offscreen dog.]

Thus, I need recommendations for air fresheners. Any smell will do, as long as it stays strong for hours. Please.

I've found a few incense sticks around the Poke'Marts. They have the cones too. They're usually in the very back...and the Pokemon Centers sometimes have these little scented candles called Sweet Scents on the counter for sale by the treats.

...Do they sell any of those by the hundred? I'd need enough to cover my whole house for at least a few days, to be safe. Hopefully not weeks.

The kitchen and living room floors have not been so clean in weeks.

It's very kind of you to offer, but no thank you. With the discount I have thanks to my badges, buying my own supply cache is more practical. Besides, I doubt I have the patience to wait for a delivery, at this point. Even the Grimers have evacuated the pond.

Frankly, freezing to death and dealing with snow in the house sounds more and more like a pleasant option to me. But the neighbors would surely complain.

I don't know about that, but the Pokemon Center seems to be able to take care of anything. Even people when they're sick. You haven't taken him in yet?

Not yet; I was too busy cleaning the house thrice over. Still, I should at least try that option, even if they could not help when Minerva caught a cold...

It's weird they couldn't fix that...I've never had any problem with them. But yeah, try that before you buy a hundred thousand candles.

It could be that they did not wish to risk infecting others. Hopefully they'll not think the same this time. A quick cure would be ideal, for everyone involved.

Do they sell air fresheners here? Or some incense. That usually lasts.

Buying mints might help too. They have some strong peppermints here. Keeps the taste out of your mouth at least.

I think they might have some on the fourth floor of the Department Store. Hopefully their stock will be sufficiently large.

Are mints safe for dogs to eat? Flare's stomach has no issue with even the most inept cooking, but I'd still rather not take any chances.

I'm sure they'll be able to help you find more too. Especially if you plan to buy a lot.

As for the mints. I'm not much of a dog expert, maybe try asking at the pokemon centers? They should help you at at least though. It's hard to smell much of anything when you have some of the really strong peppermints.

I'd have to drench myself in perfume first, but that's excellent idea. And if the mints are not safe, I might as well buy enough spices to experiment for the next week or two.

Drenching him in vinegar would serve as a harsh reminder not to eat everything he see, surely. Though he appears to have learned that particular lesson.

He's spread out on the living room floor, whining and whimpering like a dying goblin. Were the situation not his fault in the first place, I'd feel terrible for him.

Well hopefully he'll have learned at least one lesson from the mess. I don't think this would be something you could forget after all.

It might be best to open the windows a bit and just bundle up if it gets too cold. Fresh air works well for getting smells out.

Normally that'd not be an option, but the smell has scared even the pond Grimers away. I think even my Grass- and Bug-types would appreciate it.

Boiled vinegar is a good way to get rid of smells quickly. After that you can boil some nice fruits, herbs, and spices to make a room smell better without covering things up.

It lasts as long as you have the materials to replace them. Plus with the fruit mixture you can strain it and make tea or something. I suggest something mixed with ginger its good for stomach aches.

[He only reason he found that out was because of idiots eating things they weren't suppose to.]

Oh yeah, I suppose if you boiled large amount of vinegar all at once it will get rid of the smell faster.

Tea sounds very nice at the moment, with or without ginger. I've no doubt Flare would also love to drink some.

At this point, I'd almost be tempted to drown the whole house in vinegar and be done with it.

If it's that bad, then maybe you'll need to do just that. I don't think you want the smell setting in your house. If that happened you'd probably need to move.

Which is why I intend to try everything available at once and hope for the best. Otherwise the next step would be to burn down the house, and I'd rather avoid that.

Burning the house might not be best thing to do if it comes to that. You wouldn't want to pollute the air with a brunt version of a nasty wet smell.

So you better start buying vinegar in bulk.

It really does come in handy sometimes. You might need to calm down your pokemon's stomach first though. Wouldn't another him to making more of a mess.

He's been moving as little as possible for the last few hours, and he's had little more than water during that time. It helps, but it also takes longer than we'd like.

As an Arcanine, he should his speed to "clean up" for you. At least he knows now, not to eat random crap on the floor without thinking.

No, no. He now knows not to eat this particular slime without thinking. Everything else is still to be tried once.

I have an idea just coat stuff you don't want him to eat with a bit of slime. That will fix this habit.

...But it'll also ruin most of my belongings.

Not if you put on just enough for him to smell it. He's a dog, so just a tiny drop might work.

And obtaining the necessary slime would be easier than any other technique...

It's free and you don't have to worry about doing a bunch of cleaning.

It would also keep every other Pokémon in my team away from important items.

Last longer, perhaps, but at the worst it would give you a chance to clean up in the meantime. Two smaller messes are much easier than one larger mess.

Not yet. At this point they're the most likely to know how to cure him, but bringing him there will be problematic.

Lesser of two evils or whatever the phrase is? I was gonna guess they might've been Poison-type myself, with how slimy these guys are.

...Frankly, I almost wish the Grimers were back instead. But their one successful attempt to poison Bavarois turned out to be very informative.It was the first time I saw it upset, too.

It was perfectly fine after I used an antidote, yes. It's spent the last two hours snuggled up against Flare, trying to make him feel better. Perhaps it feels responsible for his current state.

Can't really help it if some Pokemon just eat everything in sight. Scathach's the same way, and she's got two heads.

So I'm guessing an Antidote didn't work on that one, since it's not really poisoned?

It did not, and neither did the potion. Perhaps this would have been easier to treat if the slime truly was poisoned, but I'll not ask him to lick a Trubbish to try that.

Definitely not a good idea. But anyway...that's at least one type down, right? And we can probably assume they're not Flying either, so that's two.

At this point, I'd go ahead and also remove the Fire-type, barring some extremely strange dual-typing. Down to fourteen, then. ...No, thirteen; a Steel-type could not be poisoned either.

Sounds like a good start. My next guess was Water, because...well, look at the things, y'know? That sound possible to you?

I'd consider it the most likely at the moment. They were at risk of drying out, after all. That's not something you'd think would apply to, say, a Rock-type.

I wouldn't be dumb enough to think it was something weak to water, not with how Amhrasach popped up in the kitchen sink and scared the hell outta me. If it's not a Water-type, that more than likely counts out just about anything weak to it.

So what's left... [Counting off on his fingers.] Water, Fighting, Electric, Grass...uh...Psychic, Dragon, Ice, Ghost... [Man, this is hard. Don't strain yourself, Lancer.] ...Bug, Normal, or Dark? I don't think I missed any...

We already covered it's probably not Poison, Fire or Flying, and it can't be Ground, Rock, or Steel. And...on second thought, I'd cross off Ghost-type too. She seems awfully damn tangible to me. So that's what, ten or eleven left if I'm not screwing up?

Tangibility means nothing when it comes to Ghost-types; my Banette feels like a plush toy most of the time, after all. That said, I'd also be tempted to cross it off, but mostly because of their usual personality.

They don't really look like Water types, that's what I'm stuck on. I mean, all of mine look like what they are--even an Audino looks like it's probably just a Normal-type, y'know? But these guys...kinda don't look like anything. Is it just me?

...I can see some sort of resemblance to Ditto, or perhaps to a slug... This could be because of a dual-type, with enough aspects from both to muddle its origins. But there's already a Water-type species of slug...

Indeed. Every previous new species had all of its information filled in, barring the natural habitat. This could imply that these come from so far away that the local customs are completely incomprehensible to them.

That would explain why even Psychic-types have trouble obtaining answers to their questions. My Lunatone did learn that Bavarois prefers strawberries to apples, but beyond that...
