A mysterious egg the first year. An object from home the second. An egg, once again, the third.

[Said egg, that of a Castform, is pretty much all that can be seen on the screen, along with Cecil's hands carefully examining it.]

Could that be the start of a pattern, somehow? It makes me wonder what our mysterious gift-giver is thinking.

[His hands still for a few seconds.]

Last time was a Feebas. I hope this surprise will be just as nice.

So other people found eggs as well?

[Temeraire sounds very relieved; he had been wondering a lot about the egg he found this morning, and fretting over it a little too. After all, what if it had been stolen or maybe mishandled before being left with him?]

Everyone has, I suspect. When it happened two years ago, no one was forgotten, no matter how recently they had arrived.

[He looks pretty surprised to hear this.]

Eggs must be very common here then, for there to be so many.

They are. Certain breeders have upwards of fifty eggs per monthly batch, and not all of them find owners.

I haven't been here for the other purresents! This is my first one.

[ She looks excited about it, a brown egg cradled in her lap. ]

What kind do you think yours will be? What's a Feebas like?

[He knows he sure was back then.]

I've no idea, truly. Then again, I'm not very good at guessing. Feebas is a fish, but because of the egg's colors I thought it would be a Ground-type.

I really am! Oh, you can tell type by color sometimes? I've nefur even had a Pokemon egg before.

Fire-type eggs are often orange or red, Water-types favor blue... Once you've had a few, you'll learn some of the patterns yourself.

That makes sense! What about a brown one? [ Eevee-brown, with cream-colored markings. She'll just be thrilled that it's something fluffy. ]

A brown one? Plenty of Normal-types are brown, along with Fighting-types...

... Y'know, I was thinking 'bout that myself.

[Crow can be seen sitting on his bed with his legs crossed, holding a dark egg in his hands. There's also a (slightly grumpy) Murkrow settled next to him.]

Makes you wonder what's in store for us next year!

Another of those reusable TMs or a memento from home, or perhaps even both. That'd be nice.

[He taps his fingers against his own egg thoughtfully.]

Though I doubt we'd receive anything truly practical beyond Pokémon training.

Yeah, it would! Guess we've gotta see what hatches from this year's gifts first, though...

[He glances down at his own egg (which leads the Murkow to let out a somewhat displeased caw) before looking back up with a small frown.]

Seems like it. During the last Weekend of Crazy Things I got my D-Wheel back, but of course I didn't get to keep it.

That's still more than I got. I've never reobtained my weapons, not even for a few minutes, nor any of my airships. I know we often find ourselves somewhere else once it's over, but I'd quite appreciate the opportunity to choose where I go.
