You'd think that after a year and seven months, the locals would be unable to surprise me anymore.

[This strange introduction comes with the image of an innocent-looking house. An innocent-looking house that has a pond and fences blocking its door, in fact. Rosie the Clefable is standing in front of it; every so often, she pokes the water's surface with curiosity.]

Necessitating either Surf or Fly to leave your house cannot possibly be practical. What if your Water- and Flying-types are ill? What if you have guests? What if your children wish to go play with friends? I doubt it's even sufficient to stop... thieves...

[He trails off as he stares in horror at the pond. Even Rosie stops touching the water and joins him in staring. Of course, that could be because of the slimy purple limb that just grabbed her arm.]

...Having Grimers in your water cannot be healthy. Goodness.

[He turns the Gear off, now. His little girl needs rescuing.]

Doing so of my own volition would upset the officers, and I refuse to catch them all. Perhaps there is an association that deals with such cases?

Maybe there is.... Do you think the breeding center would know what to do about it?

...They might be interested in having one for breeding purposes, but I'd not allow them near eggs, personally.

Hm.... [ She tilts her head curiously. ] Is it your house?

[paladinlost]

It's not. It belongs to one of the locals.

[notakaijuu]

Oh. Well, maybe the Grimers are theirs! Maybe they like them there.

[paladinlost]

...As long as their presence does not affect the city's water supply...

[notakaijuu]

Oh... [ She frowns. ] I guess that would be a problem, huh.

[paladinlost]

Then again, surely the nurses would have mentioned any poisoning cases realted to their presence by now.

[notakaijuu]

That's true! So maybe they're not making the water toxic. Maybe they're nice Grimers!

[paladinlost]

...I believe Rosie would disagree with that last part.

[notakaijuu]

[ Headtilt. ] Why?

[paladinlost]

They did just grab her arm, covering it in sludge and grime.

Maybe they're trying to be friends with her!

[paladinlost]

If so, that's not quite the best start possible.

Maybe they're not sure how to make friends.

They seem to get along with each other, at any rate, but perhaps that does not extend to other species.
