A year, to the day. That's more than acceptable for the first part of an adventure. Or perhaps I should say that obtaining this last badge is an excellent way to celebrate my first year in this world?

[Cecil's hand finally closes around the badge, and he brings the Pokégear up to look at the sky instead.]

Would anyone know why the professor cal- No, nevermind. It's not important at the moment. Badges and anniversaries should both be celebrated. If anyone in Blackthorn wishes to join me, I'll pay for the meal and drinks.

Me and Sparky did that to. And Hayner! Though...he mostly beat up pidgeys.

The Pidgey have more ways to escape. That gave them too much of an advantage, at first. And then they had ways to hit Avenger when he could not fight back.

Yeah...the pokedex said they cause sandstorms to get away. That was annoying.

I was quite glad, when Flare joined the team, to have a Pokémon fast enough to hit them first.

He is. He was one of Kisa's Ari's first eggs, back in October.

Right, because I have his brother. Axel. He hasn't evolved yet though.

Haven't gotten a fire stone yet. I need one so that he can catch up to Xion. She's fully evolved.

Those have become much less expensive a few months ago, luckily. Moon Stones are sold at a terrible price, it should almost be illegal.

That's good to know. Moon stones must be really rare or something.

That must be it. After all, they only started selling them recently.

She did, and was apparently painfully aware of it.

I wonder if pokemon can tell when they're going to evolve.

I think they might, sometimes. But not always. Rosie and Avenger were quite surprised when they evolved the first time.

Yeah...I don't think Sparky expected it either.

Perhaps they were enjoying themselves too much to think about their upcoming evolutions.

Yeah maybe. Though I think that's what Sparky needed to do to evolve. I read that Pichu evolve through happiness.

So do Cleffas, and possibly Feebas. It's a rather flattering evolution.

Somewhat, but with less anger and more elegance.
