There are steps that people can only take by themselves. No matter how much you wish to protect her, she still makes her own choices, in the end.

It took months, but I finally found a store that sells my favorite colors. I'd almost given up on finding a proper purple in this world. I couldn't possibly wear that ghastly red sold in Violet.

Most of the young nobles do. There were once many traditions associated with the different colors and the quantity of make-up you wore, but these days it's mostly ornemental. Black lipstick is still the most popular, however.

You asked the right girl for the job. [She smiles.] I've heard about them from Leon, too. He says pokemon can instantly learn any attack by using one of these. Do TMs look like CDs just like HMs?

They do. But I'm not sure if I should buy attacks whose types are not covered by my team, or if I should concentrate on additional effects. Both have their advantages.

It sounds like it. [She thinks about it a little longer.] Hmmm, I guess it would really depend on the pokemon and their style of battling, right? Do you have a particular style you use in battles, Cecil?

That depends on my opponent's type. I had to use status ailments and othe non-damaging moves against Falkner because most of my team was disadvantaged. But I intend to have Flare use brute force against the Azalea Gym leader.

Oh, I see. Maybe you should buy a few TMs then. Having a fire type is a big advantage when it comes to battling Bugsy. I know Leon needed to use Mosey against the strongest pokemon in the gym leaders team.

Even if the bugs become too much for him, Avenger and Esuna both have much higher levels than Falkner's team. Bugsy's cannot be too much stronger, or he would not be the second Gym leader.

Unless you were the type to strangle kittens, I truly doubt you were a horrible child. Even parents can have irrational reactions and impossible demands.

You could always encourage her to reach her goals through legal means, instead of violence. Help her build herself a new life here, in hopes that she will be satisfied.

Not having a particular talent does not make you a horrible child, even if that particular talent is important to a community. You merely had a different vocation.

Being a Master is only one job out of thousands. I have no doubt you could have easily become a treasurer or a teacher, and been just as helpful to your community. Did your Mother also put that pressure on your sister?
