12th moon [video/action for Burned Tower]

Well, I've finally found a building of historical and mythical significance.

[The video is somewhat dark, but Cecil can be seen, looking attentively at the walls.]

I was unable to visit the matching tower, sadly. But the associated legend is rather interesting. One Pokémon reviving three others... That would take more than the equivalent of a Phoenix Down. Or of a Raise spell.

[He takes a Revive from his pocket and shows it to the camera.]

I also managed to find a few items between all the rocks. Hidden objects and capsules that serve as treasure chests; it almost feels like home. Has anyone found interesting objects on the road?

A selfless, noble act. Perhaps it is such legends that allow the people here to be so trusting of strangers such as we.

I recommend that you refrain from trying them; they seem to taste horrid to any but Pokemon.

[He may have tried one...]

The locals do seem to speak reverently of the rainbow Pokémon. The tower it supposedly lived in refuses visitors, but it seemed well-kept, too.

I doubt my Pokémon would mind kepping them for themselves. Their healing effects are quite useful, when other supplies run low.

It would be a curious thing...[He sounds contemplative] Every culture in my world had its own set of beliefs that often were widely varied. I wonder what other myths are kept in this place.

[His village back in Alaska would be beginning to prepare for their winter celebrations by now. Perhaps this place is making him reminisce on the nights that last for months and the stories told from Elders to the young.]

[Raven shakes himself free of the memories.]

Indeed. They are that.

As far as myths go, I only know of these towers, the ruins south of Violet and Sprout Tower. And even then Sprout Tower seems more spiritual than mythological.

This world is quite generous to trainers. Or perhaps I should say it is generous to Pokémon?

I think that I shall collect them as I travel. A Shaman should have knowledge of such things.

[A smile crosses his face for a moment.]

It is. It even brings them human companions to travel with.

Should I hear of any other myths, I'll mention them on the network for everyone else.

In that case, humans are the most blessed of the two. [He smiles.] Their company is delightful.

I would be grateful.

[The Caterpie along Raven's shoulder trills happily and waves her antennae. The large man reaches up to keep her steady.]

Such creatures are indeed blessings. We have a great responsibility to them.

[Esuna the Butterfree hears that trill and comes to perch on Cecil's shoulder. Hello, distant cousin!]

It is our duty to help them grow as we journey through this land. And I like to think that in doing so, we ourselves grow as well.

[Itzpapalotl (fondly called "Itzy") waves happily with several stubby legs. The young have such enthusiasm...]

A type of growth impossible in our own worlds, perhaps. There are many here who seem to need lessons in the consequences to their actions.

[He's thinking of the young "god of thunder" he'd dreamed -and therefor must have met- during the three strange days.]

[Esuna beats her wings joyfully, before asking about Itzy's travels, teammates, trainer...]

Most of the people brought here are young. They still have some time to learn that lesson.

[Itzy happily regales Esuna with various tales. She is newly caught, but has found Raven and Atka to be entertaining companions. Especially how Raven never refers to himself as a trainer and never calls them "his" Pokemon.]

True. And this way they may learn it with little to no bloodshed.

[In exchange, Esuna tells her all about her own team, Rosie and Avenger's sibling rivalry, and little Flare who is growing up so quickly, even though it feels like he hatched yesterday.]

Luckily. I have been in this world for over three months, and I've never heard of a human or a Pokémon dying. There were attacks, and a poisoning, but no deaths.

[Itzy's a little jealous of the big team Esuna is part of, but she's also rather glad that Raven seems content to train and travel with only her and Atka. More companions will join when they join.]

That is good to hear. I had been wondering about the possible tolls these Pokemon battles may take.

[Small teams are good, too. Besides, making new friends is the best part of the journey.]

As far as I know, there are no long term effects on Pokémon, no matter how much you battle. Those Pokémon Centers are extremely efficient.

[This is true. Also, Itzy is a bit of an attention prima dona.]

Much research has obviously gone into the facilities. I wonder why the people here have not made similar improvements in human medicine?

[There's one in every team.]

Their medicine appears quite advanced, at least compared to my world. But their whole economy is based around Pokémon. It makes sense that their healing facilities would be the same.

I suppose it does, when you look at it that way.

[He's still surprised that the creatures aren't really used for war. (Team Rocket doesn't count as a threat to a man who was instrumental in the Shadow Moses Uprising) The peace that the countries have with each other is astonishing to Raven.]

Then again, the nurses seem more than willing to heal humans, too. Perhaps they don't have separate facilities for people.

One would think so, especially when one considers how easy it is for a Pokemon's attacks to be turned on humans.

[There's a part of his back that is numb from being sent to the Ice Path during those three strange days and bearing the brunt of an icy attack.]

Indeed. One of my friends was attacked by his own Pokémon during a Gym battle. Wild Pokémon can be even more dangerous.

Yes. When I reach Violet, I will ask the people at the Pokecenter about such things. Surely they will know of others affected by Pokemon's special attacks.

I' ve always wondered if the healing items found in the Pokémart would also work on humans. I mean, if an Ekans were to bite me, it would be important to know if an Antidote would work.

Especially since the plants that I would normally use for poultices and cures do not seem to exist here.

Perhaps someone who has been here longer has found equivalents? I doubt this world is completely devoid of medicinal plants. Unless a few Grass-type Pokémon take care of that.

I will be sure to ask around and check the network.
