You could try splitting the fights by type. One day, Marianne takes care of the Normal-types and David of the plants, and on the next you switch.

I think David's type is weak to plants, though, so maybe arrange them by type advantage? I don't want either of them getting hurt too much.

Yes. There are certain paints that adhere to plastic and others that don't. Hopefully the Mart will sell the sort that adheres to plastic; I don't fancy having flakes in my eyes.
