They have a bit of a rivalry, sometimes.

I have. That is why they only have a rivalry. The first few days were rather less pleasant, I assure you.

I can imagine. Proper discipline can break them of such things, you know.

I do try to act more strictly, sometimes, but I can never manage to keep it up. I suppose I spoil them a bit.

Yet that rivalry drives them to excel. And when it comes down to it, they work together quite well. Could a few arguments truly become that much of a problem?

If they make a habit of it. They may excel now, but if you think of the future...

I'll keep an eye on them. Now that they have both evolved, they might settle down.

Maturity may work in their favor.

At the very least, they'll stop fighting over their evolution. It was their main source of disagreement these days.

Marianne is an absolute sweetheart; she really seems to have taken a liking to David.

Only when they are training. They get along like siblings, most of the time.

I doubt they'll find much interest in each other's meals, but I'll watch for it. Marianne is very possessive of her food.

All of her food, but especially with the sweet meats I've been feeding her. She needs the protein, though; she's always getting into fights, rambunctious little thing.

If she fights often, she will learn new attacks quickly. With new attacks, she'll be able to fight longer and more efficiently. She has quite the self-sustaining hobby.

[But she's a pretty psycho bitch.]

She's constantly getting into scraps with wild pokemon and random trainer's pokemon at my work place. But I can't blame her; she's rather like me when I was her age, constantly going about and getting into trouble. She's able to spin fire now, too. It's gorgeous.

Does she allow your other Pokémon to gain some experience? If she hogs all the fights, it might become a problem one day.

We haven't yet had to work that out; I only caught David a little earlier, and I'm certain Marianne would be willing to let some of the weaker opponents go. She only gets so much joy out of one hit KO's.

You could try splitting the fights by type. One day, Marianne takes care of the Normal-types and David of the plants, and on the next you switch.

I think David's type is weak to plants, though, so maybe arrange them by type advantage? I don't want either of them getting hurt too much.

You might want to split the Normal-types by species. There are quite a few of those.

Who can defeat the most Pidgeys, who can jump the highest, who can send an attack the furthest... They have quite the fertile imagination when it comes to this.

Thank you very much. Normally they are somewhat calmer, but they were competing to see who would evolve first. This is a bit of a letdown for them.

That's why I make sure not to play favorites. It gives them less reasons to argue. [Their first fight was a staring contest. No permanent damage there.]
