To be in accordance with this world's natural laws, a whole half of my heredity should have been removed from my body. The half I inherited from my Lunarian father, to be exact. As there are only two half-Lunarians in the world, I cannot know exactly how it sets me apart from pure humans, but there is no doubt that there must have been something for this land to take away from me.

[Cecil doesn't know why he feels the need to talk about this now. His words come hesitantly, like he doesn't quite know if he wants to keep going.]

...Yet I feel no different, barring the usual loss of magic that even full humans go through. I look the same. I act the same. My skin still does not tan, no matter how much time I spend on the beach. The manner in which I age remains constant even after five years spent in this world. It's as if the absence — or presence, for that matter — of my Lunarian blood is completely meaningless, as far as my life is concerned.

[He stops for a moment, and then here it comes. The true, uncertain confession.]

I... don't know what to think of that. At all.

I sometimes barely remember it even when it's not dormant, to be frank. I've little time in my life for such thoughts, barring questions about my few relatives' well-being.

That makes sense though, I don't think about my family or my connection to them all the time, I'm way to busy for that.

You're right. I've become all too used to not discussing the matter, to avoid potential trouble for Baron... but such issues are meaningless here, are they not? Many have lost their own shapes, their own powers, their own status... All the better to understand each other's feelings on the subject.

Exactly, it's better to just let loss a little when you can, this place certain gives everyone that opportunity in spades.

That it does. I'd never have had the time to spend the whole day shopping or to race through the streets in a wheelchair, back home.

You got to race though the streets in a wheelchair, lucky. The closet thing I did is get chased down by a golem using rollout.

To be fair, I wouldn't have to time to even start a sweet shop back home.

I was in the wheelchair due to grave burns. That's hardly a sign of luck.

Now that I think about it, you do get sick or injury alot, so yeah you aren't that lucky.

Probably not, at that point I'd probably be traveling the world with my sis.

A pair of siblings, travelling the world together? That sounds quite lovely. Perhaps even more lovely than a sweets shop.

I like to explore what the world has to after and giving her a chance to see it is something I've always wanted to do. Plus my normal job is super flexible so I can work anywhere I want.

Is that what they call a job perk? Few offer the opportunity to travel at will, even for such a noble cause.

It's one of the many perks I get. There are always need for hunters, so we can just look for jobs in or around the area we're in.

Would that make you some sort of travelling mercenary, then?

That's a good way to sum it up, hunters are high class mercenaries who can work in vast amount of different situations.

If the demand and versatility truly are so great, I suppose employment stability is no issue.
