6th moon [video]

[The feed shows a Cleffa, a Shuppet and a Metapod watching the thuderstorm from the safety of the Pokémon Center. Their trainer is nowhere to be seen. Until he speaks.]

Has anyone... read stories about people they've met here? People that are from different worlds, I mean.

[The Pokégear is picked up, and brought closer to the window.]

Or- Or maybe you started talking with someone, and you realized that your worlds had many details in common, too many for it to be a coincidence.

[The video is finally turned toward Cecil, who looks deeply thoughtful but somewhat hesitant. He opens his mouth but stops, before he finally decides to speak.]

I think... Maybe our worlds are all connected, somehow. Maybe there is a specific reason we were all... Forget this. I'm overthinking things.

[He ends the feed.]

His clan or family name. [Do they not exist in some worlds?] In his forties... Not the same person, then. He's too young.

He is by trade, though he is rather nice about it. Then again, he is more likely to steal young ladies' hearts than their purses. [He smiles.] He also took part in the Conflict. And for all his talk, he still hasn't introduced me to his girlfriend.

[She still looks a bit confused by this.] Are we suppose to have a family name? His name is just Cid. We don't have any other name.

How old is the Cid from your world?

[She starts to laugh again.]

I wouldn't be surprise. He is a smooth talker, after all. [She continues to listen to him about Zidane being part of the Conflict.] Maybe his girlfriend isn't here?

Not everyone has them, at least in my world. But those who do not sometimes use their hometown as a replacement. No one has a last name at all in your world, then?

He has reached the youthful and sprightly age of seventy-one. Yet he still manages to be more active than most teenagers, somehow.

He mentioned she was present here when I first arrived. Perhaps she left at some point?

No. I can't think of anyone with a second name except Leon, but that's a completely different story.

Seventy-one!? [You caught her by surprise. Yup. Her Cid would be jealous of that Cid.] He does a lot of exercise, right?

I can't really say. I just recently met him and he didn't say anything about having a girlfriend. From the way he was flirting with me, it didn't seem like he had one.

Exercise, monster hunts, airship construction, he does as much as he can. It took ages before we could convince him to start training future mechanics.

From what I could tell back then, he is the type to look and flirt, but I doubt he would truly cheat on her. He appears quite devoted to her, and quick to sing her virtues. Thus he breaks women's hearts without even trying. It's quite sad, really.

Future mechanics? Aren't airships very advanced?

[She smiles nervously and nods her head.]

I wouldn't doubt it! Zidane is a really sweet guy. If he's a talented actor, then he could use his charm much easier. I hope he doesn't break too many hearts here. [Giggles softly.]

They are, and he thinks of them as his babies. So he doesn't quite want to give his place to the next generation. He only accepted to train his grandson and a girl he has known since she was four.

He always was one of the most cheerful member of the group. He even managed to flirt with the doctor, of all people. Between him and Bartz, I'm surprised Squall wasn't driven to madness.

That's good, but I'm sure he's doing it mostly to keep his legacy alive. The Cid from my world is like that too. All of his inventions are like his children too! No one is allowed to touch the computer at Merlin's house.

The doctor? [She giggles a bit.] Maybe Squall is used to all types of people. Something tells me Squall must work in something to do with the government like being in the police. He has that air....

I hope yours doesn't hit overly curious fingers with a mallet, at least.

Doctor Shantotto, maybe she have returned peacefully to her world and never appear here. She was a bit of a character, to say the least. [She was such a character, most people didn't bother.] The serious air of someone who knows how to give or obey orders. He's quite good at that. The army, perhaps?

If he did that, then the computer would get hurt too. But yelling and lecturing us about never touching his computer is just as effective. [Especially when her Cid does it.]

Hmmm, I've never heard of her, so maybe she has gone home. What is she like?

I wouldn't be surprised if Squall was trained under an army. Leon had the same air around him too. He even knows a lot about making battle plans. I remember all of his plans on making, at least, the first distict in Traverse Town a safe zone for civilians. No Heartless dared to go to the first district after Leon made his plans.

Ah, so he was a particularly persuasive person?

She was nominally on Cosmos' side, but she spent most of her time ordering us around and mocking whoever dared approach her. She solely spoke in rhymes, and her laughter... [He shudders slightly.]

Efficiently protecting civilians, even against terrible odds... He must have a kind heart, along with his planning talent.

He is especially when he's yelling. It's hard to ignore him.

She does sound like an interesting character. Maybe she was royalty back in her world?

Leon is very kind. He's been protecting me and Yuffie for a very long time. We were complete strangers to him, but he protected us when we were little kids. I owe a lot to him. [A lot! Leon is someone very important to her.]

Perhaps she was. Or she might simply be an abrasive person. She treated most fights as experiments.

He sounds like a very strong man and generous man. I would be glad to meet him someday.

Hmmm. I've never met anyone with a personality like her's. It sounds really interesting. I'd like to meet her if she ever arrives to Johto.

If he ever arrives to Johto, I'll be sure to introduce you both.

...To be honest, I hope she stays very far away from this land. I can only imagine how she would treat her Pokémon.

That would be nice. I'm cetain we could get along quite well.

You don't think she would be the type to harm them?

I bet you two would. Leon isn't very different from Squall, so you'll know how to get along with him.

Those poor Pokémon would be treated like unpaid and overworked assistants or experimental subjects. Unless they somehow managed to warm her heart...

Do they look the same, or are there differences?

[She looks a bit nervous at the thought of pokemon being used as unpaid and overworked assistance.]

What do you think is the probability of the pokemon warming up her heart? Hm?

There are some differences between Squall and Leon. For one thing, Leon has longer hair than Squall. He is also older than Squall by a few years. Oh, and he doesn't like to be called by Squall either.

...Low. Very, very low. [Of course, he hasn't read her personal trade item's description...]

Does that mean you already know what Squall will look like when he gets older?

In that case, let's all pray she doesn't show up then. For the pokemon's sake.

If you put it that way, then I do. Squall really does remind me of Leon when he was younger. Cold towards others, spoke very little, and loved to train more than anything. It took a while before we were able to call each other friends.

Does this mean that, though their circumstances were different, the two of them followed the same pattern as they grew up? Are all 'Squalls' fated to have the same personality, regardless of their world?

[Nature vs nurture, anyone?]

It would seem like it. I can't really say what Squall's circumstances were, but I can tell you Leon's clearly. We both lost everything when the Heartless invaded our world and the trials we had to go through were very difficult. However Leon was never alone whenever a trail rose up because he had me, Yuffie, and Cid. We were able to help each other the best way we possible could.

[Her smile turns pretty soft.]

I'm not sure if Squall had anyone to support him like Leon did, so I can't really say for sure.

[He stays silent as she relates Leon's origins. To be forced to bear such a burden at such a young age... Thank goodness he hadn't been alone.]

We could always ask him, but I doubt he'd answer. He's always kept his feelings to himself. I wouldn't to ask questions that make him uncomfortable.

He might get annoyed if we ask too many questions.

Maybe we should give Squall some more time. I mean, we're all just starting to get to know each other, so I bet with time we might be able to ask him tiny questions about him. That's how Leon and I started to get to know one another.

We'll just have to slowly wear him down, then. Until he feels comfortable enough to share that sort of information with us.
