[Like much of Johto and Kanto, Cecil's backyard has been invaded by a group of angry fossils. Two of them, in fact; a swarm of Cradilies and a band of Omastars have apparently started a war over that tiny piece of land, neither side willing to back down and move elsewhere. Add to that Cecil's team, protecting their home, along with the local Grimers trying to reclaim one of their favorite pond, and you get a very interesting image.

...Or at least you would, if Cecil wasn't busy filming the Lileep and Omanyte pair blissfully snuggling on his roof instead.]

I know we are to defeat or capture as many fossils as we can, but is stopping them all truly necessary? While they are obviously rebelling against their families, those two look harmless at least, and I've no doubt others-

[He has no doubt others are more than willing to use hastily snatched Grimers as ammo against innocent people's faces. Because that's what one of the Cradilies just did. And the damn Grimer doesn't even have the decency to not drip all over the Gear, either.]

...On second thought, we should burn them all.

It's not doing much good around here.

[There's the roar of twin Flamethrowers from her end, but if any fossil met its end at that, it's impossible to hear. Lightning just sighs...Cecil go take a shower.]

That's a strong possibility. Mine spend most of their energy fighting each other over goodness knows what. Their eloping children, possibly.

From the sounds of things, I doubt they noticed they're missing a couple by now. [Although what exactly they were aiming at with that Grimer, she has no idea.] Might be territorial over your pond.

Do you think there might be a way to turn back time and convince myself not to dig the damned thing. My Water-types love it, but it's almost more trouble than it's worth.

[Tida the Lapras cries out in horror at his words, but finds herself interrupted by yet another thrown Grimer.]

[Frown getting deeper. She's...actually giving that thought.]

There could be. It wouldn't surprise me after everything else I've seen in this place. [sigh.] Though it probably has something to do with one of the Legends or something. Do you really want to mess with that when everything else is going crazy again? You could just fill in the pond instead.

[With dirt. Or rocks. Or. something. she doesn't know, okay?]

Frankly, convincing myself would probably be more problematic than finding a Celebi and hope it cooperates.

I think I might need another permit for that. Why do they need so many permits for homeowners?

[His team, probably. He seems ready to just be rid of the pond entirely by now.]

Because they don't want you doing things they don't approve of? Hell if I know for sure.

I'd almost be reminded of home, but at least back there I could share or delegate the paperwork as needed, and no one used such tiny handwriting on official records.

[Cecil is as diligent as he can be, really. But his legalese is a few hundred years too old to be of much use.]

You might want to get some glasses, then. They have to fit everything one one or two sheets of paper or they'd run out of room in storage.

Even glasses won't help much, unless they're magnifying. Do you think the donation of a few filing cabinets would help?

If they have the room for them, sure. But they might have as many as they can fit already.

[Or the cabinets could all be stocked with Pokémon picture books and giving them more won't help. Who knows.]

Seems to me that you should get back inside and shut the door behind you. Unless you want to take another Grimer to the head.

I will, soon. But I'd like to try throwing out as many of these fossils as I can, first. The yard is damaged enough as it is. And there's that currently harmless pair on the roof that might not stay so.

Prioritize, then. Which of the problems is going to be the worst if you leave it unchecked for a while?

[In her mind, the ones in the yard are an issue. The ones on the roof...less so. Unless they open cans of whoopass on their feuding families, anyway.]

Technically, that would be the Grimers. They're more likely to stay here for a long time.

They have. But at least they seem unhappy with their new role in the fight, which means they might be open to a temporary alliance.

Maybe. I'd take a fighting team anyway. [a glance aside at something, then:] If they're too angry to listen to reason, they may attack you instead of making an alliance. Shouldn't risk taking that on alone.

[Because if one Grimer to the head is bad enough, being buried in them would be even worse.]
