4th moon (accidental video/action)

[The view from the Pokégear is askew, as if it had been dropped on a bag in a hurry. The image is dark and a bit foggy, but sufficient staring reveals Cleffa, frowning, deeply engaged in-

-a staring contest with a Shuppet?

It is a test of wills. Only the winner will show itself worthy of being the greatest of all Pokémon. The tension is nearly palpable. Cleffa stares! Shuppet stares back!

And neither of them pay any attention to Cecil, who is sneaking up behind Shuppet. With a pokéball. He stops, he takes a deep breath, he stretches, he aims, he swings, he throws-]

Dammit!

[-and he misses by a large margin, hitting the Pokégear and interrupting the feed.]


((ooc: Don't worry, Cecil will catch that Shuppet! ...On the third try.

[ Squall stops and stares, watching Cecil pretty much fail, silently. He's still a bit on edge from before and his hands can't stop shaking completely. The SeeD takes a deep breath before shaking his head, trying to calm himself. It might have been hours since he finally (fully) got rid of the hallucinations, that everything he thought was real... wasn't.

[ Abruptly, he turns, starting to walk off. He's more intent on getting his own revenge from those things that dared to manipulate him than stop and have a conversation with anyone. ]

[Well, that first try didn't work out. But he still has four of those balls in his pocket. He takes one out, he aims once again, he throws-

Oh dear, is that Squall in the ball's path?]

Look out!

[ If he wasn't so tense, he might have caught that or at least get out of the way. The ball slams into the back of his head causing him to almost fall over but he manages to barely catch himself. Squall groans, lifting a hand to rub the spot where he was struck ]

Ow.

[ He turns and frowns severely at Cecil, almost glaring before cautiously putting his hands into his pants' pockets. Probably wouldn't do any good if the paladin saw that he was still somewhat affected by what happened earlier ]

[Cecil throws the rest of his balls to the side and runs toward Squall.]

Squall! I'm sorry! I didn't think I'd be that bad at throwing them. Does it hurt?

[Meanwhile, Cleffa and Shuppet's Epic Staring Contest is being interrupted by a case of Pokémon caught in a ball. Cecil doesn't notice.]

Do you want me to heal you? I can't access my magic, but maybe some of those potions also work on humans...

[Bet you're regretting the end of his mostly silent phase now.]

[ Squall holds back a sigh, twitching again (this time more at Cecil's questions and ramblings than anything else) before glancing toward the night sky. ]

Fine. I'm fine. You didn't hit me... that hard.

[ He glances back at the paladin, staring for a moment before nodding lightly to himself. His Cyndaquil is in its ball (for once) and Squall had been wandering around the city alone; just like he told them, all of them, he wanted to be after they finally 'snapped' him out of his hallucinations earlier. ]

[GUESS WHAT PURPLE MONKEY IS CHEERING HIS LITTLE CLEFFA BUDDY ON? Only this time his trainer is in the background, looking vaguely amused]

Meanwhile, Cecil is muttering some very unpaladinish curses in the background, along with-]

This would be much easier if our attacks actually connected, really, how did it evade a paw to the face...

Normal-type attacks don't affect ghost-type Pokemon.

[Wait, did that come from the Pokégear? Cecil approaches it (while still aiming for the Shuppet) and looks. Oh, that's Cleffa's new friend and his probable trainer.]

Is that so? But I'm afraid Normal attacks are all Rosie has. Is there a way for her to learn something else?

[Biz peers at the camera excitedly from his trainer's shoulder, trying to get a good look at the Cleffa again]

I knew I should have payed more attention when Edge was throwing our backup swords. Couldn't those things have shown themselves at noon on a sunny day?

[More voices from the Pokégear. Cecil comes closer. Shouting his answers across the field wouldn't be very polite.]

Then again, perhaps instead of those ghost there would have been an army of Fire types trying to roast us alive. I suspect no weather is completely safe in this place.

[Light isn't near Cecil- he's headed to the beach near town, to let his Wooper enjoy itself in the water as usual and to try and forget the aftereffects of his own hallucination by staying out in the sun.]

Perhaps you should try to hit it with the pokeball again. If her attacks do not affect it, then there is nothing else you can do to catch it.
