However, where could the people of Goldenrod evacuate? The road to Azalea follows the coastline. I suppose a storm would cause the Sudowoodo to flee, but even that path takes some time to go inland.

It's still faster than going to Azalea; it took me five days to get through the forest, but it's only a four day walk to Ecruteak.
