[The ground near Blackthorn's south exit is scarred, marked by smoking craters of varying sizes. The earth is rumbling, disturbed by the force of a thousand great impacts over and over. The roars of powerful dragons can be heard, deafening all who are present to hear them. This could be the end of the world.

Middle name suggestions. Names for both males and females, preferably fitting for dragons. They must absolutely be easy to shout, especially when combined with a first and a last name. Your help would be greatly appreciated.

[In his defense, dealing with two Pokémon who settle a lover's spat with Draco Meteor would be enough to make anyone feel slightly tired.

Once the fight finally dies down, he'll be looking for Rosa. They need to talk plans.]

It'd have to be someone who can teleport, or a group that is suspiciously well-informed. Even the fastest Pokémon cannot cross the whole of Johto in a single night.

PokéSanta, it sounds like. Not that it could actually be something that ridiculous. Or could it?

...Trucy did mention someone named Santa, back in Decenber. He could be responsible for this.

I, uh... really don't think that's what it is.

Why not? Even Johto has certain aspects in common with other worlds. Why not a man that can bring gifts to everyone?

Maybe because there isn't a man that actually does that.

For everything. [Yes, he does sound a bit skeptical.] How many of these damn things are there, anyway?

At least three hundred, but I've not tried to count them all. And those are only the ones whose existence we can prove.

Th-three hundred!? Shit, I thought there was only like... a hundred or something like that.

There might be that many living naturally in Johto, but when you add the foreign ones people receive upon arrival of from eggs...

Right, how could I have forgotten about the foreign ones?

It's not that surprising, considering all the trades that take place. Even they have become quite common.

But that probably means there's more we haven't seen, huh. [Pause, thinking.] If they're foreign, they've gotta be coming from somewhere outside of this Johto place.

Like another continent, I guess.

If we knew the number of continents or countries in this world, we might be able to estimate the total number of Pokémon... Yet we can at least be certain they exist.

But we don't know anything else about them aside from that, right?

Many who were familiar with Pokémon before arriving here spoke of a region called Kanto. A great trainer named Red is said to come from there, and one of its cities is called Saffron. That is all that I know.

Well, I guess that's one. It's better than knowing nothing... not that is seems like it makes much of a difference.

...The people who obtain their eight badge are told of adventures beyond the borders of Johto's map. We might soon be able to learn more.

So we can travel the world, but there's not a single clue about how to get out. [Why is everything so lose/lose?] Has anyone gotten these eight badges yet?

I have, and I believe I am the fourth or fifth. By my travelling group is not quite ready to investigate that information yet.

Are there any others that have? Or... any way to check these places out without those badges?

The path I was told of cannot only be crossed with Surf. One would need to have already reached Olivine, at the very least.

Gotta make it complicated. Right, I almost forgot about that part.

Perhaps they fear we might feel bored of this world too quickly.
