[A Rising Badge, carefully turned over and over in a man's hand, obviously being inspected from all its angles. This is the image coming from the Cecil-cam, today.]

A year, to the day. That's more than acceptable for the first part of an adventure. Or perhaps I should say that obtaining this last badge is an excellent way to celebrate my first year in this world?

[Cecil's hand finally closes around the badge, and he brings the Pokégear up to look at the sky instead.]

Would anyone know why the professor cal- No, nevermind. It's not important at the moment. Badges and anniversaries should both be celebrated. If anyone in Blackthorn wishes to join me, I'll pay for the meal and drinks.

Did it? It's not a bad event, I hope. Will you have the chance to do so soon?

--oh! It's not bad at all! I'm just a little disappointed that I couldn't keep to the schedule I was setting for myself... I think I'm going to make the push next month, regardless of what else comes up.

If you say that, Johto will bring your closest friends from home to test that resolve. Or is that your goal?

Ahaha... If that hasn't happened in the whole time I've been here, I'm pretty sure no one from home will ever show up again.

You never know. This world has whims none of us can understand, no matter how much we wish it.

Aha... There's no denying that... Though I'm perfectly fine with no one from my world being here.

But would someone's arrival be a pleasant surprise, at least?

Of course! ... But I know better than to ever hope for a thing like that happening.

That'll keep you away from disappointment, I suppose.

Mm... I prefer to keep my view realistic when it comes to a thing like this.

...Then again, for certain worlds, expecting people to arrive would almost be the realistic point of view.

--eh? ... what kind of world would you expect that from?

I remember hearing a few people mention that many of their friends had recently arrived. With those waves of arrivals, expecting more would be comprehensible.

Yeah, that does seem to happen quite often... They arrive in waves...

It's a shame no one ever thinks of writing the new arrivals down and looking for patterns, truly.

... I get the feeling if I tried to do that, they would all think I was suspicious.

They'd see the use of it soon enough, I suspect.

If I was actually good at that kind of thing, maybe... I'm not sure I could keep up with everyone who arrives each week...

Some of those waves might be overwhelming at times, yes.

Not even surfing on my Lapras would let me survive.

Find yourself a Dragonite. If surfing is not enough, you can always fly.
