I now understand why Barboach and Qwilfish are so rarely seen on the network.

[Cecil's fishing profile takes up the whole screen today, thanks to a particularly enthusiastic cameramon. He doesn't bother to look at it, the still water holding every bit of his attention. But as he finishes his sentence, the video starts to shake slightly...]

I've spent the last five days looking for them, without results. I expected as such from Qwilfish, as I've been told they are rare on this route, but Barboach is supposedly a common species. Perhaps I should- Rosie, what's wrong? Why are you-

[The shaking only grows as Cecil is interrupted and thrown into the water by a double flying tackle. A double flying tackle coming from a Barboach and a Qwilfish. A Barboach and a Qwilfish that take the time to wink at the camera as they fly by.

Rosie is shaking so hard from laughter by that point that it takes her two tries to turn the Pokégear off. Such a terrible child.]

I'm wet and waterlogged and damp, but I'm fine, yes. My two new fish and Rosie are grounded for the year, however.

It turns out that Rosie found our two new friends yesterday, and easily convinced them to join our group. They decided not to tell me directly. It was not... amusing enough for their tastes.

I'd almost regret capturing them, but their rarity is well worth the inevitable 'entertainment' to follow.

You're trying to collect rare species, then?

[paladinlost]

'Rare' is perhaps not the best word for it, but I'm seeking out species that few or none of us are training at the moment. Which is made somewhat difficult by the fact that people rarely bother to show off their whole teams, but it's a nice challenge.

Given how teams seem to have a tendency to somehow become quite large when one isn't looking, I suppose it's not surprising that it's hard to keep track of what others are training...

*he knows how THAT goes all too well, even if being in one place for months now has largely put a temporary stop to collecting more pokemon*

Add to that all the disappearances and inherited Pokémon that might or might not be advertised. I'd not be too surprised if half a dozen Qwilfish trainers manifested themselves in the next week.

[Disappointed, maybe, but not surprised.]

Or in a month or two, because for some reason they didn't happen to notice you talking about it now.

Between work, training and travel, we can hardly be expected to keep up with everything that occurs in this world. Tough I do wish would share their rare Pokémon discoveries more often.

Assuming that they realize it's rare in the first place, of course. I'd hardly be surprised if it turned out many didn't.

...That's a possibility, especially when one considers that certain supposedly rare species are trained by dozens. That makes recognizing rarity difficult.
