[Today's Cecil-cam comes from a very familiar location: Ecruteak City, ladies and gentlemen! It took some time, but he's finally returned!]

Rydia, Rosa, Tifa, we've reached Ecruteak. Would it be better if I waited until tomorrow morning to move the Sudowoodo, or would you rather have me do so as soon as possible? Both are fine with me. Though it might be somewhat too late, if you need to walk up to it...

[But his next enquiry brings a sad frown with it.]

...Has anyone found any of the Warrior of Light's Pokémon? I've not heard from them, be it before or after I reached the city.

[His voice makes it quite clear that he was not expecting to hear anything from the Warrior of Light himself.]

She'S definitely not, and it would be worse if she could summon her Eidolons.

[Summon Eidolons---well. That's a familiar term.]

At least then you'd know where she is. Those things are never quiet.

But Ecruteak is nice enough without extra mountains, and so is the rest of Johto.

[That....is a very good point. Mountains in the middle of a route would be a baaad idea.]

How long do you think she'll stay on her own before she calls in for help?

To be honest, I was expecting her to call days ago. This would be the first time she's been left alone since her mother died.

She might be trying to prove herself. Prove to you that she can handle herself no matter how young she is. [Lightning...knows that feeling.]

An admirable goal, but I'd much prefer it if she proved that she knows who to call during emergencies. Everything else, I already know she can manage.

So teach her that. Make sure she knows she doesn't have to prove anything but that she knows to call you in an emergency. [Distant look is go.] It might keep this from happening again.

I suppose I should have done that since the beginning, or at least after Edward disappeared. But it's been such a long time such I've had to raise a young child...

[And it's not like he had the chance to teach her all of that the first time around.]

You've got time to try again now. While you're both still here. [She'd say "don't waste this chance", but that's really not her style. And Cecil probably knows not to, anyway.]

...Perhaps I'll see the years between seven and seventeen, this time. Or part of them, at least.

Maybe. You won't know until it happens.

[It shouldn't be, but...well, it is and Light kind of knows the feeling.]

It'll be a shame to miss her magical progress, though. She always seems so happy to learn new spells.

Better that she's safe here without her magic than if she's back in your home alone with no help if she needs it.

She'd be in the Feymarch with the Eidolons, by now, so she'd have many friends surrounding her, but... I'd not be able to do anything for her, if she left.

[Lightning knows that feeling, too.] Then just do what you can. There's no point in thinking about what'll happen if she goes home and you stay here. It wouldn't solve anything.

Well, it might solve the issue of how often growing girls need new clothing.
