[And now he’s back to staring at the Pokégear. Is it merely because he found it in his pocket? Or does he somehow realize, even in his state, that he can use it to communicate?]

Cecil shakes his head and points at Cleffa. He's not alone! He'll just walk along until he rejoins everyone. No need to trouble yourselves for him.]

If you are ill, it would be wise to travel with another person, and not just your pokemon. If something were to happen, your pokemon would not be able to let us know.

[Someone here resents that, Light. Cecil makes sure to give her a few good pats before he goes back to you. As a matter of fact, he even picks her up and puts her in front of the Pokégear.]

[Yes, Cecil, you are getting mother-henning from two guys who are half your age. Besides, Light's pokemon are the equivalent of Bartz and Zidane- he doesn't exactly trust pokemon to take good care of people because of it.]

Squall and Zidane are likely closer to him than we are.
