[See Cecil. See Cecil stare blankly at the Pokégear. See Cleffa perched on his shoulders, nibbling on a berry.]

Where...

[The poor, confused zombie? man looks around, seeming rather lost. He does make sure to keep Cleffa stable, though.]

...Ceo.......dore?...

[And now he’s back to staring at the Pokégear. Is it merely because he found it in his pocket? Or does he somehow realize, even in his state, that he can use it to communicate?]

Aaaah...

[...Well, he’s certainly making an effort, at any rate.]

[Cecil answers by grabbing the Pokégear and pointing it at the lab. A lot of people here seems confused. Maybe that's what Zidane means by 'get here'?]

[And now, Cecil is taking out the map in the trainer handbook and showing it to the Pokégear. Where exactly are you, Zidane?]

[He gets what Cecil's trying to ask, and tilts his head thoughtfully.]

Cherrygrove.

[Like Squall! So if Squall and Zidane are in Cherrygrove, and Light and Firion are in Violet, that means those two were there earliest, right?

He picks up Cleffa and shows her off to the Pokégear. He then points at Zidane and looks at him inquisitively. He's starting to understand that everyone gets different monsters, and he wants to know what Zidane got. Something fun, right?]

Yeah, I've seen one of those before.

[He thinks for a minute, trying to figure out what Cecil could mean. But then, it hits him. He turns the communicator to his Aipom, who was currently rummaging through his backpack. Pom turns his head up to the device with his creepy usual grin, and waves his tail in a greeting.]

[Cecil and Cleffa both wave back, Cleffa enthusiastically and Cecil sedately. A few seconds of silence, and then-]

...Monkey.

[If he was in a normal state, he'd be laughing by now, but alas. You just get a weak, tiny smile.]

[He gasps, and then grips his communicator in a mixture of over exaggerated horror.]

Cecil, my tail is gone!

[Congratulations, Zidane. You have just broken Cecil's brain. He'll be trying to look behind you to check for himself now.]

That's what I thought too.

[Like he can totally understand what Cecil's thinking. He does get up though, and turn to his side, putting the communicator there so Cecil could see what wasn't attached to his pants.]

Yeah. Not there. Completely threw off my balance, too.

[He winces in sympathy. Of course, he's imagining a surgical removal of Zidane's tail, so he might be overestimating his pain.

He pats himself all over, disturbing Cleffa in the process. Nope, all still there.]

[He chuckles, and then shrugs.] You should be fine.

[He looks quite relieved by Zidane's words. Those images in his mind weren't pretty.

But then something that was said earlier registers.]
