With the new additions to Goldenrod's catalog, I thought shopping might be a good idea, and it appears my Pokémon agree. Will anyone need something from that list? Some of those items can be rather expensive for newcomers, especially if you've not yet found work. As long as you tell me where you are, I can ask the store to post it to you.

Scythers evolve into Scizors, do they not? I did not know they also need a Metal Coat.

Scizor's a bug/steel type. I think it makes sense.

True. I guess it would have been easy for a Gym leader to obtain one, even if they were not sold in stores.

Yeah. They probably have cash to burn, even with all the trainers that take them out.

They must, to be able to pay for the Gyms' upkeep. Their assistant must also receive a salary, though that might come from the city's coffers.

They probably get paid just to sit around in a gym and loose battles. Kind of sad, if you ask me.

It would be an easy way to make a living, as long as you do not particularly care about your pride. Unless their salary is determined by their victories...

Who knows? Maybe they get paid just for being there.

That would explain why the younger trainers stay there instead of receiving lessons, though it sounds like a rather useless trade to learn.

There's still something ironic about newbie trainers like us beating the snot out of them. But I guess if they were too hard, nobody'd win.

Perhaps they keep that sort of difficulty for the last Gyms, to cull those who lack true determination.
