[By some sort of miracle, Cecil is not wearing the armor at the moment. Those Johtoan clothes must look strange on him, especially with the beads and the jewelry and the accessories.]

Thank you for having me. I fear I'll not be the most cheerful of guest.

[ Rosa only marvels at the change internally for a moment, before remembering what's going on. ]

I wouldn't expect you to be. Losing a friend, even if it's just because they went home.....it's sad.

[Cecil seems a little lost, somehow. He starts playing with his wedding ring as he speaks.]

...It's strange. Losing Edward should be easier, as I know I'll see him the moment I return home... Yet the loss feels as sharp as it did when Tidus or Firion disappeared.

[ She would hug him in comfort, but she doesn't want to be too forward, so have a hand on his shoulder instead. ]

I think it's painful, no matter what. Even if we know we'll see them again, it's still hard to be separated.

[It might merely be a hand on his shoulder, but he still leans into that touch, using it to ground himself in the present instead of the what-ifs.]

...I think I regret not telling him everything, even though some of it was for the best.

[ Rosa lets him, rubbing her hand in what she hopes is a soothing pattern. ]

Everything...? About the future, you mean?

[Sooth it does. Cecil closes his eyes.]

Yes. I should have told him... I should have told him that he'll shown strength greater than he can imagine. That he'll have many friends there to support him, from all over the world. ...That he'll have another chance at love, should he accept it.

[ Just going to keep at it, then! ]

...It's not your fault. You did what you thought was best. And if that is truly so, then I'm sure he'll learn in time.

[He really appreciates it.]

...You all truly come from a bad time. Mere weeks later, and you'd have nothing but hope left in your hearts.

I can't wait to see the day. [ Small smile.

But she feels like she should admit something to reassure him....though she's a little glad he can't see her face right now. ] ...I always knew you would rescue me, Cecil.

[He closes his eyes gently.]

...I would never have abandoned you, Rosa. Not matter what I had to do to save you.

You always were a good person, Cecil. I'm glad you were able to shed your dark armor, in the end.

[ She's not sure what prompted the change, but it's been nice seeing his face, for once. ]

It became more of a hindrance than an advantage, in the end. I had to let go of the darkness, and find my own light... Yet during the Conflict, I managed to find a balance between both somehow. Perhaps I could do so again.

It takes strength, to not let the darkness overwhelm you. I'm not surprised you could manage it.

[ Added, after a moment: ] And that's how I know you can get through anything.

I can be strong enough to get through anything because I have people I care for. As long as you all stay by my side, I know I'll be able to overcome all obstacles.

...I will remain by your side as long as you want me there, Cecil. [ What no that's not super personal or anything. ] I'm sure the others feel the same.

...You'll be stuck with me for a very long time, then.

['Til death do us part and all of that.]

I cannot think of anyone I would rather stand by.

[ Even if......she'd seen his ring earlier, and she knew what it meant. He was married, and so she really shouldn't be telling him these things. But even if he just wanted her as a friend, she was willing to oblige. ]

Standing by my side will be far from easy, even if I believe the good outweights the bad.

[Seventeen years of happiness is worth a thousand times more than the difficulties of saving the world twice, in his mind.]

Sometimes, the most important things are the most difficult. But we do them anyway.

[ Small smile. She can handle the pain, if it's for him. ]

Important. That's a great understatement. The enemies we have fought - will fight - are beings we never could have imagined. Who would have thought the world could be filled with so many powerful beings?

...There are a great many battles left to go, aren't there? [ It's almost not really a question; she knows the answer, after all. ] But if the future ahead of us is bright....then we fight on, regardless of the foe.

More than we hoped for, less than we feared. And fighting them all was worth it, if only to create a peaceful world for the children.

[Especially one particular child.]

I'm glad. I'm glad we will have finally found the peace we sought, even if it was hard-won.

[ There's a part of her that's really quite curious about the future—does she have children? Does he?—but the more prudent part of her convinces her to bite her tongue. ]

It might have been hard-won, but it also allowed us to build friendships with like-minded people from all over the world. I have to admit, thinking that we would not have met them otherwise feels strange.

[Giving him an excuse to brag and ramble on about Ceodore, while a cheering thought, would probably be a bad idea.]
