It was a cursed crimson lance made from the bones of a sea monster and given to me by my master Scathach. All the wounds it inflicted would never heal, and when activated it would take its target's heart without fail.

Made from bones? Most blacksmiths in my world now favor metal for its strength, but if it came from a sea monster and cursed... Could it be damaged, or was it also protected from harm?

Hah--! They could sure as hell have tried--I could fight better half asleep than some of the best could while wide awake.

For her in the sense that it didn't work for more than an hour. She was trying to keep me out of a fight, which is pretty much impossible.

She must have been quite worried about you, to even try it.

Guess she was. But it worked out in the end, more or less.
