He is. I've known him for nearly twenty years.

...Thank you. That's very kind of you. ...There is little to be said, really. This is not the first time a friend has disappeared, and it is not the last either.

You are lucky. Most people see the truth for themselves when their close friends disappear.

I cannot think of a single week without disappearances. They are less common than arrivals, but still take place often.

... I don't get it. Why go through the trouble of bringing us here only to replace us immediately?

People can tire of each other easily. Why not whatever brought us here?

That makes you part of the minority. Many here were taken at the wrong time, and are angry because of it.

Many were also suddenly deparated from family, from friends... Not everyone takes it well.

It is, but not accepting it would surely lead to madness and resentment.

You make it sound like accepting it is a requirement rather than a choice.

I cannot imagine living for months while not accepting our situation. Who would choose that?

I don't know, but I probably wouldn't be surprised if there's anyone like that.

If someone here has made that choice, I hope they do not resent those who have accepted it.

That would make it probably the majority of this place.
