I know it is considered uncouth to make requests before one's birthday, but I am in need of information.
[Cecil takes a small sip from the glass of juice he's holding before continuing. He's been putting this off for far too long, and his own procrastination bothers him, but that's no reason to look anything less than composed.]
Firstly, I wish to know where I could catch - not buy - any species with the ability Damp. Species recommendations and tales of personal experience with the ability would also be appreciated.
[He sets the glass down, taps it absentmindedly with his right hand. He should have done this months ago, truly.]
Secondly, I am also interested in catching species such as Goldeen, Finneon and Roselia. For those, purchasing or trading for an egg is also an option, if you can offer particularly interesting egg moves. The price is no issue, and neither is acquiring an egg from any of my own Pokémon in return.
[He'll use Gogo, if he has to. Not that he'll publicly admit that.]
Lastly, I would be most thankful if someone was willing to share a recipe for coffee cake... or willing to taste my first few attempt.s I intend to do some baking this week, and I'd rather not see it go to waste. Thank you.
[Asking about Damp species: done. Inquiring about potential future team members: done. Covertly inviting people to visit him for his birthday: done. With any luck, this'll be a productive evening.]

Maybe not...
Besides, gardening is a much more exciting subject!]
Oh, they are most certainly talented at that! Most flower-based Pokemon are, as I've learned from experience.
[He's not going to talk about his Vileplume ok.]
The majority of my flowers are kept indoors, but my flower-based Pokemon have greatly improved the longevity of them despite the lack of direct sunlight.
[She is the reason he loves roses so much, after all.]
[Unless he's referring to his Pokemon in which well, they can just carry on from there.]
[Even if she's unlikely to see them.]
To that, Dist will do something he doesn't do all too often...smile softly. Nope, not much of a point to be smug here.]
Not much of a challenge, indeed. She will love them, I'm sure of that. Roselias serve to make roses only that much more beautiful.
Not that many flowers need much help when it comes to beauty, but any sort of assistance is always welcome. Besides, Lydia and Malboro have been demanding a new playmate for some time.
Dist chuckles at that.]
You would be surprised how much of a difference there is with a Roselia's touch. Well, I'll let you observe it for yourself.
Are those two flower-based Pokemon as well?
[He can makes beautiful bouquets out of his tentacles, however.]
But my pair of Lilligant prefer to spend time as mother and daughter, and the Grass-types I caught in September favor their agemates. A new, youthful companion would please them greatly.
[All this talk about companions gives him an idea...and he's surprised he's even having this idea. But he realizes maybe he's spent way too much time cooped up in the base. And besides, it's basically Spring now, so there's no excuse not to get out...]
You know, considering Pokemon like ours tend to get along with their own kind...would you be opposed to arranging a little playdate for ours to interact with one another? I simply have this feeling that they might truly enjoy something like that.
[A playdate! He hasn't organized a playdate for any child since- Well, since Ceodore was young enough for such matters, really.]
Especially now that mild weather is a possibility. All Pokémon are different, of course, but I've no doubt doubt that all of our Grass-types are equally happy to be rid of winter once more.
[He's trying not to sound too excited, but he'll take any chance at actual socializing these days. After all, it'll be as much of a social event for him as it will be for his own Pokemon.]
Should you make plans to visit the National Park for your Roselia hunt, then perhaps I can set out there for the day myself. Who knows, having my Roserade along might attract more of her evolutionary line. That would be most convenient for you, wouldn't it?

[Cecil knows his girls, after all. Tea and cookies will find their way into his bag whether he packs them himself or not.]
