When I first awoke in New Bark Town, four years ago, I was... unwell. This whole world's very existence confused me, and so did my presence in it. The relatively weak and harmless-looking monsters were also a shock. Had it not been for Rosie's sweetness, I surely would have attempted to fight her. You could say that day was very unpleasant, though still far from the worse I've had.

[The background noise: a liquid hitting glass. The view: a quick flash of a wine bottle in a corner.]

And yet... when I finally managed to use the Pokégear, I was contacted by friends I'd not seen in seventeen years. Friends I'd not remembered in seventeen years, and that I would not have expected to ever see again even if I'd kept those memories. I also met kind people, good people, who made my first few weeks here much easier than they would otherwise have been. All have been gone for years, now, but I still find myself thinking of them fondly. Therefore... you could say that day was a good day, too.

[The action, unseen and barely heard: Cecil making a silent toast to all those people, and downing that glass before setting it back on the table.]

...Well! Now that I've shared my first day experience, it's only fitting that you do the same. Surely you all have interesting stories to share.

Especially when they're sweeter than, I don't know, using decorated boiled eggs. It wouldn't match up to actual Pokemon eggs, but it's pretty close.

And are they as large as true Pokémon eggs? I can only imagine the number of cavities that would follow.

There are some pretty big chocolate eggs, but they're harder to hide than smaller ones. And of course, they cost more.

Of course they do. Your merchants would become destitute quickly, otherwise.

Yeah. I usually see the bigger ones given away as presents and smaller ones for egg hunts. Of course, people can always buy the small eggs to give away if they want to save money.

Or if they have many to buy and store, and no empty room to fill for a few days.

They probably count on the Easter rush to get rid of all the eggs. After the holidays, the discounted prices should do the trick.

Those who prefer the sweets to the day itself must love that.

They definitely do. Unless they hate sweets or are the poor workers during the rush hour.

I worked during the few days before Christmas last year. I feel their pain.

I didn't work in the department stores during the Christmas holidays, but I sure do see the rush while shopping!

I've found that the effects of the rush can be lessened by shopping with a Gym leader, but I'd not recommend doing so too often.

Depends on who you're shopping with.

I say it's a lucky guess.

The luckiest part of it is that you've now been warned away from that particular mistake. Offering to take her shopping os the worst idea you can possibly have.

Fortunately, I don't often offer to take girls out shopping unless I'm prepared for it.

How wise. I had few occasions to shop for anything other than weapons with women before, so I'd not yet realized preparations were necessary.

I always hear that girls buy a lot. I know that's a stereotype, but there's some truth in it.

I've no idea how much of it is true, but Whitney certainly fits it down to the last detail.

The part where she bought so much stuff, you can barely see where you're going?

The part where I needed help from Aerith to hold all those bags and boxes. I thought my arms would fall off.

Thank god for Pokemon. Imagine trying to carry all of that without their help.
