I'm not sure she did at the time, honestly... I mean, it's pretty easy to assume that they're just peaceful fish that don't fight, right? There isn't really much reason to assume that they'll evolve into dragons if you don't know ahead of time.

People do try to warn newcomers about it, these days. But they're not always believed.

Can't say I blame them. There's a lot around here that you really need to see to believe.

I find that one grows out of that mindset very quickly, especially during the more turbulent times.

Well yeah, but they don't usually show up in the middle of one of those.

Dealing with them after only two or three weeks is not much better.

Still, that gives them a little time to be completely confused before they're forced to get used to things.

Unless they're are part of the small group that was familiar with this world before they came here. They make arriving in a brand new world look so easy.
