[It comes out a little stilted, quite possibly because Cecil is reading this from cue cards written in bright yellow crayon while tying ribbons around his Banette's ears. Let it not be said that the man cannot multitask.]

"However, to our great sorrow we have no room in the house to keep them all. Thus, we wish to give them to humans who will love and cherish them, and help them reach their full potential."

[He moves on to the next cue card, while the Banette ineffectively tries to wriggle away.]

"We seek only the best, most loving trainers for our young. Therefore, we request that every selected individual offer one of their own children in exchange, to serve as coll-" Wait, what? Mortblossom! Mindflayer!

[That gets Cecil standing and striding away towards the culprit, revealing the eggs hidden behind his back. This also leads to Avenger's freedom, and he promptly uses it to turn the Gear off.]

I promise I'll not ask for any sort of children in return for these eggs, no matter what those two say. Besides, most people here are too young to have any.

[Restricting his client pool that much would be bad for business.]

You know... I've been wondering why it's mostly kids doing this thing.

It could be that they are considered more likely to accept raising strange pets without knowing exactly what that entails.

These guys aren't that strange...

By my world's standards, they are closer to monsters than normal animals. Certainly not suitable to keep as pets and raise.

You might have a point there. They still look pretty normal compared to some of the things I've seen.

But would you allow those things to sleep in your bed and grab meat from your table?

Not sure I could stop a Moogle if I tried!

...Tidus could easily throw them away and Terra could grab them in a hug and never let go, but unless you have either of those talents...
