[Are you currently travelling on route 30? If you are, maybe you have seen a white-haired man in his thirties following the road, accompanied by a Cleffa and a Shuppet. Or perhaps you've seen the three of them searching for something through a patch of grass. Looking behind every single tree the route contains. Staring at the pond with unconcealed dread. Trying to climb the ledges, right after jumping down. Attempting to interrogate the locals.

Do you stop to ask what's going on? Or do you quickly walk away, hoping the crazy isn't contagious?]

[ Kisa eyes him timidly, almost poised to flee until Ari circles back to more or less herd her over. Once it's become apparent that she can't just stare at him (because that's rude), she slowly nods. ]

[Oh god, so adorable.]

It is a lovely day, isn't it? Probably one of the last warm ones we'll get before winter. I hope you're enjoying it.

[The poor girl seems shy. Small talk is a good icebreaker, right?]

[ It's going to be rather one-sided small talk, because she's a failure when it comes to speaking, but Kisa sloooowly lifts her eyes to his face. He has an unusual hair color too, she notes; is that why hers doesn't seem to bother him?

She nods again, a little more curious this time. ]

[Hey, he had that phase too a few weeks back. One-sided is no problem.]

Do you have any friends in this world? Or people from home? Walks are best enjoyed when you're with people you like.

[ Kisa has to pause to think things over. She likes both Artemis and Savyna, and most of the people she's met, but none of them have called her a friend, and she doesn't want to make assumptions. For all she knows, she might be bothering them. And Ritsu is... in Violet.

[Such a cute little girl, alone and friendless? Impossible.]

[ Kisa's head jerks up, and she shakes her head quickly. She does know people, she does!

... This is rather difficult to get across without some elaborate pantomiming, though. ]

Ah, so you do know someone? Are they further down the road? When I arrived here, all my friends were in Cherrygrove or Violet. Catching up can take a while.

[ she nods at that. She's kept her cousin waiting, she knows that much. ]

Don't worry, Violet is less than a week away. You'll find them in no time. Besides, you have your Growlithe with you. I bet she could find your friend's scent without any trouble.

[ Ari can do that? She glances down at her Growlithe, who waves her tail and barks in a quieter tone, sounding somewhat proud. ]

Pokémon can do many surprising acts. Rosie [and there he points at the Cleffa] is very good at finger painting, and Avenger [points at the Shuppet] can throw a Berry in the air and catch it before it touches the ground. Finding someone in a city is probably very easy for Growlithe.

[ Kisa nods very solemnly, taking his words at face-value. Ari's usually the one who keeps her from being lost, so that's probably true enough. For now, she takes a moment to get a better look at the Cleffa and the Shuppet, both of which she's never seen before. ]

[He sees those looks, and he brings the two of them closer.]

Rosie is a Cleffa. She was the first Pokémon I received. Avenger is a Shuppet, and I caught him after those foggy days. What about you? Do you only have Growlithe, or have you caught any others?

[ They're both cute, and Kisa musters a smile, slowly removing two Pokéballs hooked to her belt and releasing a Girafarig and a Pidgey. Ari immediately barks at the Pidgey, who hurriedly perches on Cecil's shoulder where it's higher up and safe. ]

[Cecil is a bit surprised when the Pidgey perches on him, but he understands why it would want to do so. He looks at the two, deep in thought.]

A Pidgey? I hear they become quite big, perhaps one day you'll be able to fly with it. ...If your Growlithe doesn't eat it before that time.

I wonder if you could ride your Girafarig? It would shorten travel times, and you would see your friend sooner. But those spikes on its back look uncomfortable. What a shame.

They're both very adorable. Cute Pokémon to match a cute girl, I suppose.

[ In response, she flushes, more than a little surprised. He thinks she's cute?

Meanwhile, the Pidgey is totally not budging. Keep him safe, strange man! ]

Of course, cute girls are even cuter when they smile. [Smiles are great, so he encourages her with the most beaming face he can manage.]

... [ Kisa tilts her head, still unsure, but smiles are contagious, so in a minute, she'll smile up at him in return. ]

And such a lovely smile it is! Does it come with a lovely name too? Mine is Cecil. Cecil Harvey. [He bows elegantly.] It is a pleasure to meet you.

[ Kisa blinks, a little startled as he bows, but then giving him a proper Japanese bow in return. It takes her a few more minutes to find her PokéGear and laboriously type a response, which she then shyly offers to him. It's still very awkward to do this in person, but what else can you do when no one knows your name? ]

My name is Kisa Sohma. It's nice to meet you too.

[He takes the Pokégear and reads the name. So the girl cannot talk at all, at such a young age? Cecil finds that sad, but decides not to pry.]

Kisa Sohma? It is a lovely name. It suits you perfectly.
