A mysterious egg the first year. An object from home the second. An egg, once again, the third.

[Said egg, that of a Castform, is pretty much all that can be seen on the screen, along with Cecil's hands carefully examining it.]

Could that be the start of a pattern, somehow? It makes me wonder what our mysterious gift-giver is thinking.

[His hands still for a few seconds.]

Last time was a Feebas. I hope this surprise will be just as nice.

Hehe, really only one way to figure out if there's a pattern, huh?

Staying another ten years to be certain that any pattern we may find is not merely accidental?

Bingo! [He chuckles.] Maybe even another ten after that, juuuuust to be sure.

I think I'll pass up the chance to prove my theory. Who knows what effect this world has on age?

Hmm? What do you mean by that?

If I spend twenty years in this world, will I age normally? And if I do, what will happen to my body when I return home? Will it keep traces of those twenty years? Time works strangely in this world, after all.

Oh. Right. I don't know, it's hard to say. Everything seems to point to things freezing back home, so I would think you wouldn't keep the traces. I once knew somebody who managed to age a couple of years during one of those weird coma things, despite the fact that he didn't actually leave. But then there are some people who leave and come back younger than they were here when they left.

But aging normally here...that I have no clue. I always just kind of assumed we would.

Did he age progressively during his sleep, or did it all happen suddenly? Considering everything else, both possibilities would make sense... I'd rather not assume anything but it'd be easy to see how aging works by observing younger children over a year or two, I suppose.

I have no idea. Unfortunately it wasn't someone I traveled with so I only saw the before and after. And he's not here anymore so it's not like we could really ask.

No matter. It'll happen again sooner or later; we might have our answers then.
