Has anyone heard the locals mention dead Pokémon, beyond the Ecruteak legend? ...What about those of you who knew about Kanto previously? Were you aware of any burial or holy grounds?

I haven't asked. [Not that he's made much effort to speak with other people here.] Every living thing dies eventually, though.

Normally, at least. We've received indications that no injuries are fatal here. Yet there are so many graves...

I know that's how it is for Pokémon, but humans too? How did you find that out?

I guess you'd have to bury Pokémon, since you can't eat them. [Yes he's checked.] There have to be some Pokémon that can die though, since the meat here has to come from something. Maybe the graves are for them? Except there shouldn't be anything left to bury if they're being eaten properly. [Does this mean that humans are wasting the lives they take here too?]

Are graves what humans normally make for dead things? I dug one for Grandpa because I don't eat humans and I wanted him to become part of the forest, but is that what humans usually do?

I remember a girl being crushed by an Onix months and months ago. She woke up unhurt at the nearest Pokémon Center, even though she claimed she felt her bones break.

It could be that Pokémon cannot be killed, but that they can still die of old age. That could even explain the meat. Or perhaps they simply disappear. Even without a body, people will usually erect graves once a loved one is gone for many years.

That doesn't make sense. How can that even happen?

I don't think anything can live forever. The meat doesn't taste like it's from an old animal, but their bodies have to go somewhere.

This world does not make sense from either a natural or a social point of view. Pokémon do not die and do not eat men, yet many are carnivores. Surely Gyarados cannot survive on berries?

I don't know what a Gyarados is, but if there isn't a way to get meat in the wild then they have to be able to live on plants.

I've heard people talk about Pokémon breeding, so there should be more of them here if the parents live for a long time or somehow never die. After long enough there would be too many of them for the land to feed and they would starve, but I haven't seen any Pokémon who look like they can't get enough to eat.

That's true. Certain species are much more widespread or common than others, and none seem to go hungry. Neither do they appear to fall ill, beyond catching common colds. Even the weakest, youngest Pokémon survive to become healthy adults. There should be an overpopulation problem by now.

The common Pokémon probably have larger litters. If there aren't any predators then most of the weak young should survive, but that just means there should be even more of them to feed.

This really doesn't make sense.

Many of us have been trying to make sense of this world for nearly two years. It's not progressed very far yet.

I'll have to see if I run into anything that will make this make sense.

I truly doubt it, but I wish you luck in that endeavor.
