I've found Marcus and Seifer in my storage this morning.

[A pause. The feed shows the sky and nothing more, with small, regular movements hinting that it was not placed on a stable surface. The sounds of waves is very close by.]

My head hurts terribly, and my dreams make no sense, even though they're not quite dreams, even though-

[He interrupts himself. Another pause.]

I need to do something.

[A sigh. There is a disturbance in the water, but he ignores it.]

Edward. Rydia. I leave for Ecruteak tonight. Will you follow?

[Even after practicing for some minutes, his voice sounds like he's pleading. He ignores it. A serpentine head appears on the Pokégear, dripping water all over it. Cecil's hand comes up to pet her.]

Be careful, Leviathan. The Pokégear does not like water.

...It hurts-

[The hand comes down to cut the feed.]

...Thank you. [A beat.] Ecruteak is a very lovely city, with towers of great historical value. And there is a theater there, with five ladies who dance and sing beautifully. I believe you'll enjoy it.

Go through Union Cave. If Bartz also comes and the two of you ride Boko, we'll be able to meet easily enough. I... doubt he'll wish to stay behind.

...Knowing what others consider the future can be useful, I suppose. But even without that knowledge, I'd believe in him until the very end.

Cecil? [ Sounds worried. ]

Hello, Xion. [A pause.] Did you get to see Leviathan? She's become even prettier, since her evolution.

[Of course, Leviathan had to shove her face back in the picture the moment she heard her name. Have a closeup of a Milotic who remembers good times with hot chocolate.]

Even if he did, it would not be wise.

...True. Did you find any of Zidane's or Squall's Pokémon? Suzuki has Griever.

... Cecil? Are you ok? [Rydia frowns a little bit. She wishes she was there so she could pat him on the head.]

'Course I'll come with you. I don't want to be alone or anything.

I'm fine. [A pause.] Two of my friends were sent back home today. That's all.

Thank you. We'll be meeting up with a few friends there. Travelling with a full group again would be nice.

I'm sorry... at least you have me and Edward, right? We won't leave you.

Friends? Yaaaay! New friends!

...It does sound lovely. Have you been before, or...?

I did not. Do you wish for me to care for some of them?

[The view shakes a little, as someone's forgotten that no one can see him shake his head.]

I've only received two of them. They won't overwhelm me. But that makes only three out of their old teams... Zidane had four; Squall had five; that's six still missing. Perhaps Garnet received some of them?

Once, for about two weeks. I even had the time to explore the nearby routes and mountain somewhat. It was quite enjoyable.

I think you'll like them. The Warrior of Light can be too serious, Bartz is often not serious enough, and Suzuki can be scary, but all of them are wonderful people.

Well, naturally.

Too serious? Too not serious? Too scary? Those don't sound like good qualities.. but I'll believe you for now, Cecil! You haven't given me a reason not to.

I certainly hope I'll never do. [Except for the whole not telling you about parts of the future thing.] It's merely that Light and Suzuki are very intense people, while Bartz is more of a free spirit. However, all three of them are excellent trainers. Bartz even has a Pokémon that looks a little like a three-headed brown chocobo.

[... yeah, we'll just let that one slide.] 'intense' people? I think they're probably just grumpy. I'll cheer 'em up!

A chocobo?! I want one! Ahhh! [Rydia hops up and down giddily.]

...Actually, that is an excellent idea. Light in particular will need a lot of cheering up. [If only because he's less likely to get angry at a kid.]

You could ask him for an egg, once we meet up. This way, you'd have your own Pokémon to ride around while I work.

Is he sad? Did his girlfriend die like Eddie's or something? Should I tell him to suck it up? What.. [and, a plethora of questions. your average kid.]

Eeee! D'ya think he'd give me an egg? He better! Or I'll just steal one!

I think not. [~~Because he wouldn't remember her anyway.~~] But he was also friends with the two people who disappeared. And since three more of our friends disappeared before that...

He'll certainly give you one, as long as you promise to take care of it. There'll be no need to resort to theft.

It is quite possible, or perhaps they were moved to the hands of other trainers in the area.

I hope they found themselves adopted by kind people. They deserve to be loved and spoiled, especially after losing their original trainers.

Ooooh, okay. Well then.. I guess I'll just have to melt his heart, hehe.

Oh, peshaw. Of course I can take good care of it. I am Rydia after all!
