Personality: Cecil is a very heroic character; a literal knight in shining armor, even. He’s always the first to charge against enemies and the last to retreat. He is a responsible king, devoted to his people and to world peace. He is also a caring friend, the kind who will worry about you even if he hasn’t seen you in nearly twenty years. He’d happily take a blow for anyone he cares about, especially friends and family.

However, he wasn’t always so upstanding. He was a Dark Knight in his youth, and he ended up attacking a peaceful village and razing another, killing most of its inhabitants. Even his numerous doubts about his duty weren’t quite enough to make him disobey his orders. But the discovery of a young girl named Rydia amongst the burning ruins sent him on a quest to redeem himself. And he sincerely cares about redeeming himself and staying redeemed. Thus he does his very best to be a fair, honest ruler and person, even when it might be disadvantageous to him. Should he make a mistake, he will shoulder the blame and do his best to repair it.

This came back to bite him when a mysterious girl attacked his castle and defeated him in combat. She brainwashed the unconscious Cecil, twisting his wish for peace and order with a desire to impose his view on the world. She forced him to attack his friends and lay the path for his planet’s destruction. Her hold over him ended up broken, but the damage had been done. Cecil, unable to deal with what he had been forced to do, became mostly catatonic. But even his state doesn’t stop him from caring about others, and you can be sure he’ll do his best to help people, no matter what.

Strengths/Weaknesses:
+ Cecil is an accomplished swordsman. Therefore, he can easily defend himself against armed opponents. He can also take hits like nobody else.
+ He gets along with people easily. Men, women, children, elderly, he’ll become friends with anyone. He tends to be pretty helpful too.
+ He’s a very stable person. He doesn’t have extreme mood swings, and he tends to be the voice of reason in a group.
+ He has a lot of survival experience. Walking a week to reach a town won’t be a problem.

- ...He’s kinda mostly in a soulless coma right now. He can move and fight weakly, he obviously reacts to the world around him, but he barely talks and isn’t completely there.
- That means he’ll also depend a lot on people for information and direction, because he sure can’t lead a group the way he is right now.
- He follows a rather traditional form of chivalry, so he tends to tell women to stay behind before going to fight dangerous enemies. This might displease quite a few people.
- He has about no experience with technology other than vehicles, so he’ll be rather out of his element here. Ironically, the Pokégear would probably be the easiest for him to understand, because his world has something similar in function (whisperweed).

Samples
(Please note that both samples must take place in Route_29’s setting.)

First Person Sample:

Graaah...

[See Cecil. See Cecil stare blankly at the Pokégear. See Cleffa perched on his shoulders, nibbling on a berry.]

Where...

[The poor, confused zombie? man looks around, seeming rather lost. He does make sure to keep Cleffa stable, though.]

...Ceo.......dore?...

[And now he’s back to staring at the Pokégear. Is it merely because he found it in his pocket? Or does he somehow realize, even in his state, that he can use it to communicate?]

Aaaah...

[...Well, he’s certainly making an effort, at any rate.]

Third Person Sample:

There was a tiny pink monster on his shoulder.

There was a tiny pink monster on his shoulder.

Waking up in an unknown village far away from the moon had been a surprise. Meeting with ‘Mom’ and that grandfatherly gentleman had been strange. But the tiny pink monster was simply baffling.

“Aaaahhh?”

Cleffa!

Cecil was confused. He knew there was something wrong with him. How could he not? His memories were all fuzzy and mixed up; thinking was hard, too hard; faces would look familiar one moment and be completely unknown the next; he had hurt Ceodore and Rosa and Kain and Cid and Edward and...

Cleffa? Fafafa!

And yet, his head didn’t hurt so much anymore. The pain that had been present ever since they had landed on the moon had mostly disappeared. It was as if the girl’s influence on him had been lessened. Was that because of the little monster’s presence? The thought was somewhat comforting.

He hadn’t found the others in this tiny village. But hadn’t the locals talked about a journey? Leaving this place might be a good idea. Perhaps Rosa and Ceodore had ended up somewhere out there too. If he found them, he might be able to recover his strenght and make himself useful to their group. He might be able to repair the damage done to their world.

He might be able to find himself again.

Cecil stood up and patted the little monster on the head. Then, he quickly gathered the pack he had been given and started walking toward the only road out of the village. Better leave as early as he could. He didn’t know how long the journey was, after all. He probably had a long way to go.

“...........Together?..........”

Cleff-ffa!

He wasn’t alright yet. But he was starting to think he would be.
