You'd think that after a year and seven months, the locals would be unable to surprise me anymore.

[This strange introduction comes with the image of an innocent-looking house. An innocent-looking house that has a pond and fences blocking its door, in fact. Rosie the Clefable is standing in front of it; every so often, she pokes the water's surface with curiosity.]

Necessitating either Surf or Fly to leave your house cannot possibly be practical. What if your Water- and Flying-types are ill? What if you have guests? What if your children wish to go play with friends? I doubt it's even sufficient to stop... thieves...

[He trails off as he stares in horror at the pond. Even Rosie stops touching the water and joins him in staring. Of course, that could be because of the slimy purple limb that just grabbed her arm.]

...Having Grimers in your water cannot be healthy. Goodness.

[He turns the Gear off, now. His little girl needs rescuing.]

She has just been grabbed by animated toxic sludge. She should return to normal quickly.

[Rosie just keeps sounding disgusted. Trainer, Zen Headbutt involves touching it more. Ewwwwww.]

...And here I was, thinking that Leviathan and Mist would be the most likely to be upset by dirty opponents.

[Rosie just shoots him a dirty look before Thunderbolting the pond again. She's not taking any chances.]

I don't think it's the dirty part that's upsetting her, Cecil.

[Sure, she doesn't know Rosie, but...getting grabbed by slime could and probably does tick everyone off.]

It cannot be the poison, I've never seen it affect her.

Could be the principle of the thing. No one likes getting grabbed all of a sudden like that.

I shall try to teach her how to defend herself against such assaults, then. Her reaction could be problematic, under other circumstances.

Yeah. I doubt you want her doing that to you or one of your others if they sneak up on her.

[Surprises can be good...if you don't get Thunderbolted, anyway.]

Or use any of her other attacks, for that matter. I... might have insisted on variety in her moveset.

[Which he could be burned! Frozen! Crushed!]

And I'm guessing none of it's painless if you get hit.

[Yeeep. Nothing painless in that moveset. Best to work the spooks out of her.]

There's no chance of that, unless she chooses to sing.

[And that would cause a whole new sort of problem.]

[Lightning doesn't quite know what that does but...it would be an issue. Especially since, while unconscious, one is even more vulnerable than before. Whoo boy.]

Normal-type attack, has a chance of putting the target to sleep. It has its uses, but Esuna's Sleep Powder is more accurate. Besides, a few Pokémon seem immune to sounds.

[Someone's done his research, even if he rarely shows it.]
